I have no problem with the lack of Iceman & Firestar. That said however, using the title for a Spider-verse series seems counter-intuitive to me. I would have expected any revival of the title to be an animated version of Marvel Team-Up. Every episode, Spider-Man encounters another hero of the Marvel Universe, and they join forces to defeat the villain of the day. It's a fun way to introduce characters to kids that they may not be as familiar with.

It also has me concerned about the possibility of reasonable negotiations with Sony regarding Spider-Man in the MCU being picked back up. This is an incredibly blantant F-you to Sony. It makes me think that maybe Disney really don't give a shit if Spider-Man stays or goes.

Yeah, but that's just the latest iteration of their Spider-Man animated series. Disney has had one of those running ever since they bought Marvel. They're always going to have one of those. Sure, they've included Venom in the title, but he's always been a popular character. It isn't necessarily tied to the success of the live-action movie. Besides, any kid who tunes in to that cartoon expecting to see the Venom they saw when watching Venom is going to be sorely disappointed.
