Man, what a fucking letdown. Everyone hyping this movie like if it were the second coming of Christ. And not just the internet, people in real life too. I was bracing myself for a 90-minute schlock fest but got a snooze fest instead.
This fucking movie actually takes itself seriously, which only amplifies the stupidity of it. So a hurricane is coming and this chick’s dad is at home doing repairs when he should be evacuating. He lives next to a swamp. Surprise. Surprise. His home gets infested with alligators and his daughter has to go rescue him. They end up trapped in the house as the hurricane arrives and floods the whole neighborhood, leading to an army of alligators showing up and trying to eat them. Oh, and there’s a dog that manages to survive. The father and daughter have a troubled past and they use this experience to put their differences aside.
Bro, I just wanted to watch a dumb alligator movie. Couldn’t it just have been a bunch of dumb college kids that eaten by alligators in the middle of a hurricane? Did we really need a father-daughter drama with... alligators? Fuck this movie.
