It’s a Men in Black movie. Take it or leave it. Tess Thompson is a rookie sent to work at the London branch with Chris Hemsworth. Together they stop an MIB mole from stealing a weapon. The chemistry between them two is good. There’s good humor. There’s good action scenes. There’s good aliens. I don’t know what else to tell you. Movie is fine.

Squandered potential strikes again. It's obvious that a lot of footage was left on the editing room floor from the beginning of the film in order to speed up the pacing. Towards the end of the movie however, we get a bunch of unnecessary callback shots to remind us of previous events we just saw an hour and a half ago. I hate being treated like I'm stupid. Sure, I realize that most people are stupid, but that doesn't mean we all have to be treated that way. Stupid people are used to not understanding movie plots.

I need to watch the original again. Haven't seen that in ages.

I walked away definitely feeling that this was the worst of the franchise. Even Men in Black II was better. And it comes down to a combination of lazy writing and a purveying sense of halfheartedness from everybody involved. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson do retain their chemistry from Thor: Ragnarok and are easily the highlight more often than not, along with Kumail Nanjiani, but even they have moments where it just feels so phoned-in. F. Gary Gray just felt to be sleep-directing the entire time, and then the screenplay either just felt rushed or, as I said, lazy. The attempts at humor are mostly middle-of-the-road and not all that funny to begin with and then the actual plot just feels like it was formed in a day. There's a lame attempt at a bait-and-switch concerning an oh-so-obvious plot twist that really hammers home how weak this screenplay is. If Sony was insisting on a fourth MIB, then the least they could do was involve talent who actually gave a shit about the material and could make something at least entertaining. F. Gary Gray and co. did not.

Snoozer. Just a forgettable flick. Rushed expository dialogue predictable tropes. Winks and nods were okay.
The two dancing bad guys were great but ultimately wasted as they tried to rush the mole plotline.
This was garbage. I'll watch the sequel tho if they make one.
