It really astounds me that Marvel built this on B-C, and in the case of Guardians, D rate characters. None of the MCU movies are GREAT, so the fact it’s B/C/D characters is still apparent. But yes, as far as franchises go, they made the rest of Hollywood look like fools. They built a system that works for them and connects with audiences. |

It really astounds me that Marvel built this on B-C, and in the case of Guardians, D rate characters. They were B & C listers, true. That said however, they were still characters who endured throughout the decades. Their popularity ebbed and flowed with the quality of their writing, but they continued on, even when their titles got cancelled and were relegated to guest appearances in other titles for years before getting another shot at their own series. |

I suspect The Black Order are keeping the Avengers busy while Thanos is out collecting Infinity Stones from those who have them. |

I haven't read any Infinity War comics but my prediction; up for grab deaths in Infinity War are War Machine, Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Mantis and any of the Black Panther entourage. Basically any characters we could do without. Vision will bite it in Avengers 4 and they'll figure a way to have Falcon take over as Captain America.

I haven't read any Infinity War comics but my prediction; up for grab deaths in Infinity War are War Machine, Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Mantis and any of the Black Panther entourage. I'd be looking more towards the real world for character deaths- Whose contract is up? Whose price tag is too high? Who's ready to move on? RDJ salary is astronomical, and he's working film to film without a contract. Chris Evans' contract is up, and he's expressed an interest in moving on, and he's getting expensive. Chris Hemsworth's contract is up, but he's not that expensive and most of the other films he's been in haven't fared well. Don Cheadle works cheap with or without a contract. Sebastian Stan has a long term contract, he's cheap, and nobody is beating down his door with leading roles. Vision is an android, so death only lasts until he's been rebuilt. Anthony Mackie is in the same boat as Sebastian Stan. Elizabeth Olsen still has a contract, from what I gather, but even so, Avengers pays the bills so that she can keep doing indie movies that nobody watches. Mark Ruffalo is a character actor, not a leading man. He'll stick around, with or without a contract, and at a reasonable rate. I still think that the MCU is going to be rewritten at the end of Avengers 4, so any deaths will be undone. Some characters like Hawkeye may not come back, but that doesn't mean he's not enjoying retirement at the safe house with his family. |
