Directed by Fred fucking Durst! At first I thought you were joking. I was delighted to discover that you are not.

I just stumbled across that about 30 minutes ago, I'm halfway in. I'm surprised how much Mike seems to have enjoyed it.

This is the best thing to come out of that video.

I used to have to deal with a guy like this back when I worked at a comic shop. His fanaticism revolved around Sarah Michelle Gellar and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. His job was repairing video arcade games, which made perfect sense. Nobody could hear him speaking in a place that loud, which was for the best. His voice was like fingernails over a chalk board. Every week he came in with a pre-planed conversation in his head about what happened last night on Buffy, which he was determined to inflict upon some poor soul (sometimes me). It always started exactly the same, "Did you watch Buffy last night?" It didn't matter if you said yes or no. He'd launch into his prepared speech about the various merits of the episode, and how it related to the ongoing story arch or whatever.
On the plus side, I never got the impression that he might ever become dangerous, and he bought any B:TVS merch we ordered. Of course, that was a long time ago. Who knows what dark turn he may have taken after 99% of the video arcades closed and Buffy ended. I hope he's managed to find something better than being a character on Hollywood Blvd who takes pictures with people for tips.

Were you around when Jibbs worked at Toys R Us (R.I.P.) and creepy grown men would buy Natalie Portman Star Wars dolls?

Back in my Best Buy days the most rabid fans we had of just about anything were the anime fans. If we didn't have the latest Cowboy Bepop I would get an assload of complaining, when we'd get it, why we don't have it in stock, all we have are stupid movies, etc.

I wasn't working at TRU during The Prequel era, but I was at the comic shop. We didn't stock mass market fashion dolls. We had direct market action figures for the most part. We only stocked Star Wars figures if they were particularly hard to find characters from the Original Trilogy. Prequel figures are all common as dirt, regardless how obscure the character is. While we had a number of customers who got a bit obsessive about whatever they were fans of, I don't recall any of them being in the creepy range regarding celebrities. The Buffy fan probably couldn't have brought himself to speak to Sarah Michelle Gellar if he encountered her in real life. We did have a young woman who worked at the store who had a couple stalkers we had to deal with on a regular basis, however. I don't know that her situation was entirely because of where we worked, though. I had a stalker before I ever started working there. People be crazy.

If that's the case, they're kidding themselves. If a stalker knows where your work, or where you live, they know where to find you. Some people are lonely, desperate and imbalanced, so they wind up forming an attachment that makes sense in their mind. Whether they know your real name or not isn't going to change their delusion.

Whatever it takes to get people to see their craptacular movie. If that means getting people to watch it solely to laugh at how bad it is, they're still paying to watch it. RLM has over a million subscribers to their YouTube page. I'm not sure about their social media profile, but it's probably large enough to make the attention worth while.
That said, I have to admit that when I heard Mike call Redbox "bottom of the barrel", I thought it was unfair. Redbox is pretty much the entire barrel. It was stupid of them to waste money producing a movie, though.
