 When Tim Goodman learns that his father, Detective Harry Goodman, has been killed following an escape from Mewtwo at a research lab, he teams up with Pikachu to seek answers. The movie is... okay. I like the noir style and the characters but I wasn’t too thrilled with the plot. It’s kinda what you expect, “the twist” is super obvious, and it wasn’t told in a compelling way. At least the Pokémon are cute and the world building is fun. If you have to watch something other than Avengers: Endgame for the kazillionith time, you could do far worse. |

It's the second best adaptation of a video game. It brought back my nostalgia for the original games.
As a movie...yeah, it's just ok.

This is a love letter to all the 90's kids, I was thoroughly satisfied. Not much else to say, except don't see this movie unless you grew up with Pokemon.

This review is like, if someone made me watch Wrestlemania and I've never seen wrestling before. OF COURSE you are not the target audience nor will you be if you had to watch it, why the hell are you sitting through this movie? So you can rant on your dumb channel and be popular. I have no idea how these dumb people get so many clicks and reviews. I'm guessing the target audience is 12 year olds. |

It's a channel for nerds who don't take their hobby too seriously, and they do Caravan of Garbage for fun and to get a silly conversation going, which they are successful at. This was just their flavor of the week movie tie-in. They already released their Aladdin video game play through for next week's Aladdin movie. Here is what they did for Avengers: Endgame. For the record, they saw Detective Pikachu and thought it was okay. |

I watch John Campea and Collider Live. I figured they have some sort of a channel... Where they review all sorts of movies.
I typically stay away from people who are forced to watch a movie even if it's not in the nitch.
For example, John Campea is very much a critic and film reviewer who always honest, for example "this is not for me but here's something I learned from why people like this movie."
He keeps its from attacking film makers and the audience that loves that sort of thing.
I wish more reviewers like him existed, but these days its crowded by youtube critics DC vs Marvel, Star Wars sucks now cuz of Rain Johnson, Captain Marvel ruined MCU and Endgame.
It's so tiresome, and annoying.
That's why I said the Wrestlemania quote, it's becoming normal to attack a certain movie or franchise, and shit on it and make fun of people who liked something others didn't.
I loved Pokemon growing up, I'm the audience that showed up in droves this weekend and it was fine... nothing special. But can improve the world building and a better story in a sequel.
I hate twilight, and basically most horror/gore fest movies.
I don't want to go out of my way to attack people who like it and basically call them dumb and stupid for liking it.
But welcome to 2019 everyone hates on everyone i guess these days...
Also I probably rolled my eyes cuz they sounded typical angry rant critic on youtube... But it sounds like they do some cool stuff on the video game side, which does peak my interest to see more of there video's.

Sillier than I expected, but still enjoyable. If I'm reviewing this for Pokemon fans, 7/10.
If I'l reviewing this for average movie goers, 4/10.
