Well I fell in love with the show during the first episode and 5 seasons later it seems like it ended way too soon.
*spoilers below*
I always knew they would end up killing Nucky but to see it come full circle was a great way for him to go out. Not just being killed by Jimmy's son but to know that he started his demise (literally) when he sold his soul to The Commodore by giving him Gillian, it really was justified. I would have liked a little more closure but it was a good ending that came too soon.

Yea I think they did a great job, just was kind of bothered they didn't stick to history with Nucky, needless to say I didn't really see that ending coming though (but how old is Jimmy's kid actually? He would be like 12 or something by my count...) , just made him a complete fictional character. Great ending though, those last 3 episodes just punched you in the gut repeatedly.
I liked Narcisse's final words too.
Poor Richard though... tried his damndest to keep Jimmy's kid away from that life, but some children can't be helped but follow in their parents footsteps.

Yea the kid should have been maybe 13-15. Not sure why they made him look 18ish. My Wife says he looked like he could have been the right age so who knows.

I really enjoyed the series finale. The flashbacks were a bit jarring in the beginning, but the last episode really tied everything up neatly. I was not expecting Tommy at all! I thought he was supposed to be 14, which seems to be the general consensus.
And I know it didn't happen in the finale but can I just tell you all how happy I was when Mickey bit the dust? I've been waiting 5 seasons for that tittering asshole to take a bullet to the face and stop with his annoying little giggle.

I actually felt the opposite about Mickey. During the first couple of seasons he was annoying as hell but the last two season he really grew on me so I was kinda bummed when he got shot.
I really wanted Lansky to get it good. I hate that little twerp and was pissed he survived.

Ha, Lansky lived the longest out of all of them.
I loved Mickey. Crime shows need the slimeball, and he fit the bill perfectly. Hope that actor goes on to bigger and better, he killed it as Mickey.

Just started watching this show earlier in the week and am already done with the first season. Kind of a dry show but a really good watch nonetheless.

Yea I am considering rewatching it in the near future. Someone posted the scene below on another forum and it reminded me how much I loved it.
This is from season 3. I don't think it is spoilerish but if you havent made it to 3 yet you will see some of those who survived so far.
Without a doubt one of the best bad guys on TV. Gyp Rosetti is a character I could watch all day if he was given his own show.

I'm halfway into season 4 after 2 weeks of watching. Is this considered binge watching? I'm not sure but it's the most of one show I've ever burned through in that amount of time, roughly 40 episodes in 14 days.

Such good pay off episodes for the binge too. This show just keeps building until the last couple episodes then just explodes (each season).

The last episode of season 3 especially. Harrow (my favorite character of the show) going on a Jack Bauer style kill spree was awesome.

Yes. Richard was an amazing presence on that show. Considering the phenomenal cast, for him to stand out just shows how much talent Jack Huston has.

One episode left. Luciano and Lansky are seemingly on top and I know enough about this era of history to know that Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky both lived well into ripe old ages. Hopefully it's not a complete downer of a finale. I'll knock it out tonight or tomorrow so I can finally get around to my CS Film Club movie, sorry Dracula.

In case anyone picks up the show late in the game like I did, spoilers below.
Yeah, I think Nucky getting it was the only way they could have ended the show but you really felt for the guy at the very end. I'm very glad Narcisse bit the bullet though, I hated that guy. Props to Jeffrey Wright for making him such a bastard. I can't remember the last time I watched a show with such rich characters. Everyone involved was spectacular in the role they portrayed. It only took me about 3 weeks to watch the whole show but I'm still disappointed it's over.
I heard The Wire is a good show, maybe I should start that up...

Haven't had a chance to check out The Wire but I hear Chalky White approves of it.

I finally blitzed through season 5 of this a few weeks ago. Definitely cut short too soon as a series but they did a stellar job of wrapping things up as well as possible.
Up there in my top 5 list, I would say.
I'd have Darmody down as my favourite character and the very end of season 4 as my favourite moment.
Top stuff.

I will be watching The Wire for the first time soon, too. We just started The Wire this week. Almost through season 1. It is a good show so far. It isn't as good as people made it out to be, at least not yet, but still enjoying it.
