A Quiet Place was the best movie of 2018, so says I.
The studio have talked Krasinski into writing and directing (possibly because: money?) and Blunt is back. Cillian Murphy has been cast also.
What do we think?
Aroused?
Semi?
Don't tell me you're FLACCID?! (Sorry, women, I'm not sure of the female alternative. Slightly moist?)

The one thing A Quiet Place had going for it was it's near pantomime style and use of sound, so the fact that they make a mostly noise filled trailer for the second one makes me give no shits for it.

I'm really hesitant about this. The first one was good for all the originality it brought to the series. The whole "in the post-apocalypse filled with monsters/zombies/aliens/etc., the thing you have to fear most is the PEOPLE who are left" schtick is a proverbial horse beaten to a pulp. I'm not encouraged by that. However, Krasinski hasn't let me down yet, so I'm trusting he does something good and original here.

I know I'm being overly nitpicky, but the actions characters take in these teasers don't make any sense at all.

I might as well start noticing these things earlier on before I just get overly annoyed if I bother trying to see the movie in theaters. And this stuff starts to bug the hell out of me. I probably will skip this one. Even though so many others seemed to love it, the first film's plot holes and ending left me disappointed. From the fact that they actually establish locations where they should live or at least deliver their baby (by rivers and waterfalls), to the "I'll just stand here and get eaten" mentality that made me think his character was an idiot, to the idea that no one thought to use audio in any way to cause harm to creatures that see with their ears. "What a twist!" Never mind all the militaries that actually already have audio-based weaponry. So, you know... everyone is an idiot I guess.
My nitpicks so far with the teasers include minor throwaways, such as why you would slam on your brakes and throw your car into reverse instead of just swerving out of the way. This is just brain-dead directing to me to make something more exciting than it really is, instead of people having normal reactions to situations. The same going for John Krasinski's character bolting the opposite direction when you have no idea what just happened. The entire street of people just start running away for that matter. An appropriate and logical response for most would be confusion and assessment. Was it a vehicle or animal that suddenly rammed into the car? If an animal; what kind of animal? A moose? A bear? Immediately sprinting away just seems completely out of the ordinary for normal human behavior.
It's little things like this that make me appreciate directors who really think about the situations characters are in with a complete thought. It's a simple case of having him get up and look over the wrecked car and then show the creature reemerge out of the store and start killing/eating someone, cutting to a shocked Krasinski. Now have him start sprinting away. Perfect. In addition to the thrill, you also have some great horror and suspense, and it all fits nicely together in a single bow. Meh.
Maybe I'm wrong, though. Maybe they've heard about the creatures already, so he knows what it is, even as it oddly rams into a noiseless parked car. Was it running away from something? *shrugs*
Now onto a plothole that I'm hoping will be addressed. Why leave their home? We didn't see it left in ruins by any stretch of the imagination. It's still a well setup location that, despite having recently been attacked, also has a radio system that with some good speakers in place now acts like a weapon. A reasonable explanation might be that they want to get the word out about the creatures' weakness to other people (we'll ignore the fact that this alternate reality is full of morons). At least I'm hoping it's something like that, because if they're leaving just solely due to the attack, that will bug me.

So the people who already saw this at the premiere or whatever...what, they can't talk about this movie at all now?
