That opening would have had more impact if they had bothered to explain how there were mutants in ancient Egypt and how they managed to rule and how none of that ended up in historical documents.

Especially since Mystique is also famous and she’s struggling to hide.

The movie literally contradicts itself in back-to-back scenes.

Setting up the Dark Phoenix in a movie about Apocalypse. How about just set-up Jean Grey first.

Set up for the Dark Phoenix which will be completely ignored in Dark Phoenix, no less.

Ivan Ooze: “This world needs to be cleansed.”

Okay, Thanos.

This is the better Quicksilver scene. A little long. But funnier.

Actually, Xavier and Magneto should be de-aged Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan by now.

Great continuity , guys.

Remember when “feminists” got mad that Ivan Ooze choking Mystique was part of the marketing?

This isn’t a bad movie. It’s just... over-stuffed. I would have been okay if this were the last one. Ending it with the young X-Men in the Danger Room and Xavier looking on felt right. Or heck, if you HAD to make another one, have one that links to the original series. If Days of Future Past is to be believed, those versions of the characters still exist somehow. So pave the road to that. There was no reason to do another Dark Phoenix Story. That ended the franchise disjointed.
