In 2004, which incredibly was 15 years ago, M. Night pulled The Village out of his ass. As I’ve mentioned in the past, M. Night became known for his twists, even though that was trendy when he came around, thanks to movies like Usual Suspects and Se7en. By the time of The Village it was played out and M. Night began to get ridiculed for it. The Village’s twist ending was strong enough to have been its own movie. By tagging it at the end, the movie just felt lazy and gimmicky. Now comes along Glass which suffers from Village syndrome. The so-called twist, which audiences could see miles away, should have been its own movie. The movie feels like a waste of time. It has an okay beginning and then drags along till it gets to the point. Coming on the heels of Unbreakable and Split, it’s a disappointment.

It's frustrating, and that makes more of a crime than if it was a bad movie.

The movie is fine, maybe a little long, until the last ten minutes. Then it turns into The Happening level dogshit.

it turns into The Happening level dogshit. Why? Melodramatics trying to prop up scripting failure nonsense, complete with actors who look baffled as to why they're there. As in "Holy shit, why did I sign onto this?"

I'll be surprising nobody here when I say that I liked it. In fact, I think I REALLY liked it. More than Split. But Unbreakable is still the best. I also quite liked the twist -- well, the main twist, given that this movie has three of them almost in a row -- but I do agree that particular one could've been its own movie. I really dug this, though. Definitely more of a traditional M, Night movie than Split or The Visit was, but I thought it was well-done.

There's more meat on the bones here than there was on Split.

Strongest entry of the trilogy. The ending was somewhat like Ex-Machina where you ask "what could happen next" and get to explore a world of possibilities. I know Shyamalan's penchant for twists, and yet I was still surprised. I am done watching it, and yet still can't stop thinking about it. One of the better movies I've seen in some time.

lol, y'all. I heard the ending was incredibly divisive, I'm just on the side that liked it. It worked for me, and I like the idea of the remaining characters forming a possible Oracle-like network for the other supers that are out there. The only other possibility, really, was that David lives and does some kind of all-points bulletin call for all existing heroes to come forth, but that seems cheesy to me.

I mean.... Put me in the dug it crowd. I enjoyed the action scenes I liked the twists and I think it was a great third act overall.
Some cheesy lines here and there and some things that weren't exactly explained is just movie magic for me here, the drubbing it took from critics helped me lower my expectations a bit but it still delivered for me.
And blessed be the Dolby screens. I don't wanna see a movie without em anymore.
Solid 7/10 for me.

Hated it. It's boring for about an hour, gets a little interesting, then shits the bed at the end. Completely loses sight of what makes Unbreakable work.

Big kick in the nuts to revisit Unbreakable in prep for Glass, discover I really like that movie, only to despise what Shyamalan had in store for these characters in chapter three.
So I kind of hated this movie. The first hour or so (maybe more) is relentlessly boring, with scene after scene in the same location going in circles with nothing really going on. Then, there's one genuinely engaging scene which hearkened back to the strengths of Unbreakable that I really liked, then the film settles into action climax mood. I really didn't want a big punch-out for this series, but if they were to go that route, they needed a lot more production value and creativity because the climax here is mostly laughable. Indeed, the film's low-budget is consistently felt, but that bothered me a lot less than the dull story which nosedives into nonsensical territory with a ridiculously overblown ending that seems to completely lose sight of what Unbreakable was about, namely the characters. What was a story about two lonely people finding (and losing) each other has become a big superhero universe, but at the expense of the emotional core that engaged me in the first place. I guess I didn't see the ending coming, so points for that, but it feels completely mismanaged and the motivation of the involved characters is questionable to say the least.
In addition to the one scene I liked a lot, I also still really like Sam Jackson's performance as Mister Glass and generally just find this character interesting. All told, I guess I shouldn't be disappointed given I don't think much of Split either, but the uniqueness of this trilogy really had me hoping this would be something special.

The movie is fascinating in that it seems completely stupid for the first hour and a half, then the twist happens which gives a decent explanation for what came before while revealing it to have actually been stupid for completely different reasons.

But didn't think it could come close to how much they butchered the last half hour. The sad part is I really Love Un-breakable and Split. So it's even more disappointing... I was hoping since I missed it in Theatres id end liking it more without having to pay... Nope 3/10
