Tom Cruise went in on members of the crew. I think he's right, but his approach wasn't. There's a lot of stress, and he's the producer who has put a lot of money and a lot of personal dedication to the project as we know he's known for with these films. But I can't imagine who these two, probably grips or PAs or something, must have felt having Tom fucking Cruise scream at them for two minutes for standing too close to each other. I was wondering the same thing, who were the guys that got chewed out by Tom Cruise? We as a society need to stop immediately calling every tirade or yelling fit "abuse".
Anger is a natural emotion, and yes you can be a dick in expressing it, but no one experienced any harm because of this tirade.

If people are wearing masks and being tested then protocol is largely being followed. It's impossible to entirely social distance in the workplace. I mean, hell, Cruise himself is going to be up close and personal with other actors in the film. I saw a production still of him HANDCUFFED to Haley Atwell! I wonder what video village is like on this set. Is there just another stage being used to spread the above the line's monitors around? Are producers just yelling to each other from across the room? Maybe they all huddle together, but the moment Cruise is heading their way they disperse. "Oh shit, Tom's coming. Hide!" |
