It has a great energy to it and is able to keep a good pace all the way through.

C'mon, Doomsday, don't be so down on your work. This was a really entertaining movie that knew exactly what it was. But I liked how it wasn't too tongue-in-cheek. I thought both "halves" of the movie worked, the characters were fleshed out/charismatic enough and that Julius Avery brought a really fun energy to it. Not anything to really write home about, mind you, but a fun watch nonetheless.
