I think when you get it isn't so much an issue if we don't know when it was sent. Just don't proclaim you sent it when someone says "hey I got blahblahblah!"

Just checked back in on this thread in awhile and it seems the purchasing/receiving of gifts is under way. If anyone is interested in what I have to say, I don't think it necessarily matters talking about what gift you received, but like someone else said it adds to the anonymity of Secret Santa if you don't announce having just sent a gift off to someone.
On the flipside, do people want to thank their Secret Santa? Kinds defeats the purpose of Secret Santa but I also get that people want to be thankful.
Thoughts?

When I've done secret santa before we normally found out after everybody had opened their gifts. If we do like what I've had done for RAKit with TheChive, it's completely anonymous. You can say thanks here after you get it, but you'll never know who actually sent it. Both work and maybe we can leave it up to each individual.
