Still relishing in the afterglow of ultra-violence that was Kingsmen: The Secret Service. Mathew Vaughn is 5 for 5.

So much anger toward an awards show that's proven it's increasingly out of touch with the masses...
I don't that part's going to change guys.

As much as I like slamming the Oscars when necessary, it's always a little funny that people fume about who won or didn't win which is immediately followed by 'well the Oscars don't mean anything anyways.'

If anyone cares, the Citizenfour documentary, which won the Oscar last night, will debut on HBO in less than 5 minutes.

Episodes of QI on hulu. Tonight I will be falling asleep to the magical laugh of Jimmy Carr! I have no memory of this conversation, hence creating a QI thread this evening. Hope y'all are enjoying it! And it's totally bizarre that an American knows and gets the hilarity of J.Carr and B.Bailey. Kudos!

I'd also like to thank you all for humouring me during my pre- and post-break up blow outs.
I went off at the deep end for a few days, as is my wont whenever I split up with a long-term Mrs.
Thankfully normal service has now been resumed.
I'm not sure why I felt the need to post here so much whilst shitfaced... I guess I feel like I now know you all well enough to make an arse out of myself on a public forum.
Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...
Anyhoo.
I missed this place for the one week I was away, genuinely. I think it will be a fixture for life forever, just so long as you're all around.

Haha.
It was my call!
We actually met up tonight to exchange personal items...
It was going so well until the 2nd bottle of wine.
Then there were tears.
Innumerable tears.

...and then the bar room brawl, where you chucked a Magner's bottle at the window behind the countertop.

I like to make a scene.
On a serious note, I went for a job interview today.
Prior to leaving my flat I spent 2 hours reading about the Triblenka gas chamber in Nazi Germany.
I was in tears at my laptop. I didn't read it on purpose, but it dawned on me after that reading about experiences such as those is a great way of stopping yourself from being nervous. I was walking to the interview thinking "I'm a little bit apprehensive about 12 people interviewing me" then I thought about almost 1 millionn people being herded into Triblenka, and millions more at Auschwitz, and I just lost all sense of nervousness. No hardship I will ever go through will ever come close to comparing to the suffering of those millions of men, women an children. The perspective it puts our easy lives into is extraordinary.
I honestly don't think I'll ever be nervous ever again.
If I'm talking in front of a large group, or on the spot at the most important interview of my career, all I'll think of is a young man pulling up at the last stop at Triblenka.
He had cause to be nervous.
Not me. My life is an embarrassment of riches in comparison.

That's one way to alleviate anxiety.
This will appear morbid. But I usually just picture my death, burial, and the worlds slow disintegration in the vastness of space; that's how insignificant I am. So I figure--why am I nervous about a date (or in this case, an interview), anyway?

My friend, that's why my relationship ended.
She can't see a future without a permanent companion and offspring.
My personal opinion, to quote Rust Cohle, is why would I want to bring life into this "meat...this thresher"? Especially life that I know I'm not capable of being responsible for, and may never be.
I think the over population of Earth is the single biggest problem this planet faces right now. Soon there'll be 10 billion and it will be impossible to police. The ones seeking to do the most damage will be too commonplace and the effort required to combat them just won't be sufficient.

Damn. This thread got bleak 0_0.
On another note: after months of wifi connectivity issues and growing in increasing rage towards my ISP, I finally figured out the problem.
Turns out Cogeco failed to mention when they installed our new modem that it was a combo wireless router. So when we installed our separate, powerful, brand new wifi router, the signals went crazy.
Unplugged the separate router and everything is peachy.
I'm so mad I wanna break a toaster.

See, that's just another way of avoiding loneliness. I get it. No one likes being alone, but I like a life of odd things happening to me, and perpetual change. Kids are shackles. As a person with an introverted, unconventional career, anything that prevents me from spacing out all day is going to be an issue. I'm a dreamer. I don't live in reality.

I'm the same. I'm also immensely selfish, which is to my detriment.
My folks and brother live within half a mile of each other and they have these perfect relationships with local jobs and their 2.5 children. They're completely satisfied in this tiny bubble within 2 miles of where they all grew up and close to all my immediate family.
I literally couldn't be any more different from them in every fundamental way. It's so frustrating. I love these people more than anything in the world but mentally we couldn't be further apart.
How do you explain that?

He's had progressive breathing problems for quite a while, and I thought I had heard about cancer, but the article about this admission doesn't specify anything yet except chest pain

Moran's standup is hilarious. I've watched a couple on youtube. How was he in Calvary?
