What's on Your Mind: A New Journey

Eh, they're probably just going to run into a Serbian buzzsaw. I'll get really excited if they somehow take down that guy.

Well, we'll see if their luck sustains.

I mean, that's probably a fluke, there's no way the Nuggets play that bad going forward, they can still definitely screw this up.

So, for a while now, our family has had an orange cat named Newton.

But the past month or so hasn't been very good for Newton. The cyst that has been in his pancreas since about late last year has only gotten worse recently, to the point where his daily injections of medicine have stopped helping. He had a vet visit early yesterday morning, and after getting his current prognosis, we made the most difficult decision that pet owners ever have to make: we'll be saying goodbye to him tomorrow.

He just clearly hasn't been himself recently, and the past few days especially, I've just had this feeling in my gut that this was coming. He spent nearly all of Friday hiding under a bed, he hasn't been eating a lot (except for yesterday, since the vet gave him some meds and fluids, which perked him up a little). He's back under a bed again today, occasionally coming out to wander around. Plus, he's 13, too old to potentially try surgery to remove it.

We don't want him to suffer anymore, which he clearly is. But damn, this hurts so much. He's been the best cat we've ever had, bar none, and I'm going to miss him terribly.

Granted I would be the old man there, the same one I would make fun of when I was 23 and drunk out of my mind in a club that I way, way, way overpaid to be in.
