I've still never really understood the real reason the CS! boards were shut down and I'm just as confused with the closing of the IMDb boards.
(To match the trend, I didn't post on IMDb either)

I hardly ever posted on IMDB, I trolled people when I was a kid but I would still browse the boards every so often because people would post legit stuff, links to movie news, early reviews, it was a nice one stop shop for info you might not have found otherwise.
As for the CS! boards, I don't think we ever got a straight answer from Mirko as to why they closed. He probably didn't want to spend the few bucks it cost to host it although the Superhero Hype forums are still active. It was also pretty irritating that in every column posted on the CS main page ended with 'leave your thoughts in the comments below' rather than 'leave your thoughts in the forum.'

I still haven't gotten over being stripped of my music forum moderatorship.

(To match the trend, I didn't post on IMDb either) The CS! Boards were shut down because the SHH! Boards made us look like a joke. It has an active enough movie, TV, sports and politics section that Mirko didn't need to spend money on us. I warned people for YEARS to get more active and stop picking fights with the masses. It was ignored. The IMDb Boards were shut down because there was too much trolling and they didn't want to spend money on moderators.

Speaking of the old CS! days, I know a couple people here are friends with Rogue on FB but I wonder what happened to Southern. Anyone ever keep up with her?

It was also pretty irritating that in every column posted on the CS main page ended with 'leave your thoughts in the comments below' rather than 'leave your thoughts in the forum.' I'm sure I said a few times they should've linked to forum pages rather than allow comments but I was ignored. I've still never really understood the real reason the CS! boards were shut down and I'm just as confused with the closing of the IMDb boards. (To match the trend, I didn't post on IMDb either) The CS! Boards were shut down because the SHH! Boards made us look like a joke. It was ignored. The IMDb Boards were shut down because there was too much trolling and they didn't want to spend money on moderators. I liked SHH but it was too busy. I would've prefered a merger rather than a full closure. I've never really understood the need for the two pages anyway. SHH never runs comics stories so really so it's running movie and TV news that could and should be on a movie site like, oh I dunno, CS!? I've stopped visiting CS! as much these days without the boards to draw me in but there was a time where CS! would run a headline for X-Men or something and it would link you to the SHH story, it wasn't just the SHH as the source it was the actual SHH web page. It's the same for Shock Till You Drop (or what ever the horror site is called) but since it's less popular it's less noticeable.

I think Shock Till You Drop shut down, unless it moved to a new url that I'm not aware of. At the very least, Coming Soon is starting to slowly turn into a hybrid of its former self and Shock. Now it's coming up with obnoxious clickbait lists, lackluster editorials on nothing in particular, and contributions by Chris Alexander that are at the very least enthusiastic about obscure media, but unfortunately not very interesting. All of which seem to be clogging and pushing out actual news.
It's still my go-to movie news site, but it's been slowly evolving into what drives me crazy about every other news site out there.

That actually explains a lot. Shock was getting pretty lame, with news stories that were fairly pointless, and fluff pieces and it all just seemed to migrate to CS a while back. Shock's crap infused with CS's news feed makes everything fall into place.

One year later and things are still awesome. Who would have thought. Best year ever! An auto tuned Madonna, at least that's who I think it was hearing, sounds like a dying computer when played as background music.

I'm old enough to remember when this was the most embarrassing part of Eddie Murphy's career.

I forgot about Daylights Savings Time. I was so confused when I woke up. My only clock is my computer - changes automatically I know. That's why I was confused. I woke up and it was still dark. I was like, "where's the sun", and then remembered it was Daylights Savings. Last year was such a simpler time. For reasons I can't remember I fell asleep early and woke up early on Daylights Savings. That's the way it should be. Not like right now in which I'm infuriated cause I lost an hour. It would be fine if I had nothing to do today, but I have shit to do. Sleep deprivation and coffee, here we come.

The Disney enthusiast in me is intrigued by by The Beauty and the Beast movie. I asked to take one of my nieces, 3 yrs old, to Beauty and the Beast, which turned into my sister in-law asking my brother to make it an all of us thing, which turned into him pulling the man card. She's really into that kind of stuff and it would be a good uncle moment. I'm gonna give her so many Disney movies on BluRay to get him back. That and the loudest toys possible.
