Even Dracula has to admit that the ONE great thing about VHS is that almost every single movie was released on that format. DVD's, Blu-Ray's and now streaming have ridiculously limited libraries. Streaming, in particular, is the biggest offender. I can understand companies feeling that certain movies don't have a wide enough audience to warrant the cost of manufacturing & shipping DVD's and Blu-Ray's, but what's the excuse for streaming? Every movie should be available to watch online. So my question is this: what are some movies that are impossible to find and it pisses you off so much that you're tempted to dust off an old VCR and track down the VHS?

It seems with things going more toward streaming, every fucking thing is impossible to find.
One thing I will say is that with enough patience you can find just about anything through bootleg and torrent. About tenish years ago I was watching a bunch of Three Stooges filmography and bought what discs I could and taped a lot off of TCM. The two films I couldn't find were Turn Back the Clock (which has since been released by Warner Archive) and Fugitive Lovers. I put word on the grapevine that I was looking for these two films and a few weeks later an online friend of mine rang back with a "surprise." He threw in a bunch of Shemp solo short subjects just for the hell of it too.

My issues aren't that I can't find what I'm looking for, but what I find has been butchered. WKRP in Cincinnati was always full of actual rock & roll songs, rather than the generic tunes that most TV series used to avoid copyright issues. The DVDs however, are an utter disaster. Any scene which featured an original song has been re-edited to remove any mention of the song or artist, and a sound-a-like has been inserted into the soundtrack. Daria suffers from the same problem. Even some of the Sick Sad World bits have been edited for some reason.
Many of the more obscure titles can be acquired from places such as the Warner Archive and amazon. Rather than having the movie in stock, they simply burn a copy any time someone order one, print the sheet for the jewel case and ship it. That's how I finally got my copy of The Maxx.
