“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing everyday.”
This is definitely not a kids movie. I feel bad for any parent dumb enough to drag their kid to it. They’ll either be bored, depressed or both.
The movie begins with Christopher Robin growing up and saying goodbye to his friends, the stuffed animals known as Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Donkey?, Rabbit?, Owl? and the other ones. He gets an education. He fights in World War II. He marrys Hayley Atwell and her giant breasts. They have a daughter. And he gets a soulless job at a luggage company.
That’s where the story picks up. Christopher Robin is depressed, his family is suffering because of it, and so Winnie the Pooh shows up to remind him that “today is the best day.” You might be dead tomorrow. Shit, you might die later today. Right now - is the best moment.
Did you expect a Winnie the Pooh movie to make you question your decisions in life? You might as well slit your wrists, and while you’re bleeding, tie a rope around your neck and jump off a stool. No talking teddy bear is gonna come to cheer you up.
Movie, I know you’re trying to “teach a lesson” but this Christopher Robin guy didn’t fix his life. The bear fixed it for him. How does that help the audience? You just made people feel worse about themselves.
So... do I recommend the movie? Sure. Suicide rate goes up. They’ll be less traffic tomorrow. Gotta look at the brighter side of things.
