Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Disney+)

S02/E12-14 – 'The Mandalore Arc' - we are introduced to Bo-Katan's older sister, Satine Kryze, the primary ruler of Mandalore (a Duchess, not THE Mandalore), as well as a pacifist. This series of episodes gives you a nice understanding of the Mandalorians during the Clone Wars, you get to see their cities, their war-ravaged world, and their modernist design (cubism ftw, apparently). Here you'll meet Death Watch, the terrorist cell that wants Mandalore to abandon it's pacifist ways and go back to the Way of the Mandalore. Apparently the Children of the Watch are a subset of this faction, which should explain the mindset Din Djarrin was surrounded by, even though the mandos we see in 'The Mandalorian' are less... belicous... than the average Death Watch member.

S03/E12-14 – 'The Nightsisters Arc' - we get to see Dathomir, Darth Maul's homeworld and how it's society is structured. Most interestingly, how the Force can be used in unorthodox ways. If I recall correctly, it primarily concerns Asajj Ventress, but the Nightsisters will be more relevant later on.

S03/E15-17 – 'The Mortis Arc' - it's both metacommentary on Anakin's future and the overarching story of the series, as well as a gamechanger for Ahsoka. Fans used to dismiss it as a metaphor of sorts, but no, it's 100% literal, even what you don't understand. Just watch it. I've said too much already.

S04/E11-13 – 'The Zygerrian Slavers' - [NON-ESSENTIAL]a species of cat-like people who enslave several species, and more recently, Togrutas, like Ahsoka. Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan try to save them, mainly by infiltration. It's a nice setting for Anakin, considering how he was a slave, but also gives some background context for Ahsoka.

S04/E14 – [NON-ESSENTIAL] Bo-Katan is introduced in this episode. It's interesting because we see Ahsoka's friendship with the son of a separatist Senator and more of Death Watch.

S04/E19-22 – 'Maul's Return' - he survived his 'death' in 'Episode I - The Phantom Menace', was driven mad and will be the wildcard of the series moving forward. He'll be Obi-Wan's archenemy until he dies. Sam Witwer does such an amazing job dubbing Maul, it's worth the watch just for that delivery of voice acting.

S05/E01, 14-16 – 'Shadow Conspiracy' - this arc is a gamechanger. Maul creates his own criminal collective, with multiple organizations colluding together. If you've seen 'Solo', you've seen hints of it. The darksaber is also here. Absolutely essential. Things are coming together.

S05/E17-20 – 'The Traitor Arc' - Not even going to explain what the arc is about. And Im not crying, you are!

S07/E09-12 – 'The Siege of Mandalore' - we witness the end of the Clone Wars from Ahsoka's perspective as she helps Bo-Katan regain control of Mandalore. Also, Order 66 and how she survived.
