Doomsday This is the second most watched show at the moment (behind Walking Dead). Wow, and I didn't even hear about it until this past week. Its got really nice photography and the concept is ripe to be a tv show. The first ep is really quite strong. But I think it's worn out its welcome already.

My parents never missed an episode of this show. And they were divorced, so them agreeing on something was rare.

I actually just watched the first season about a month ago. I would describe it as a very okay show. It's trying to be this Sopranos-esque series only about a rich ranching family in Montana dealing with developers, Native American gangsters and...people stealing dinosaur bones? It has these kind of absurd subplots and forced suspense scenes that are really over the top. I heard the second and third seasons are much better but I'll get around to those some other time, I'm in no rush.

A spin-off & prequel series in the works: deadline.com/2021/02/yellowstone-spinoff-mayor-of-kingstown-land-man-taylor-sheridan-slate-paramount-plus-1234700272/“Yellowstone is the #1 show with tens of millions of fans based on the characters Taylor has created and his gift for world building,” said Chris McCarthy, President, MTV Entertainment Group. “With Paramount+, our strategy is to supercharge subscribers by franchising our biggest hit IP like we’re doing with Yellowstone prequel Y:1883 and build new IP with marquee creative talent like Taylor.” “Taylor, Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios have been incredible partners to us at 101 over the years,” said David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios. “Together, we have been able to build Yellowstone into an immersive universe for audiences globally. And that is what we intend to do with these series as well. We will be introducing new characters and story lines alongside world-class talent and creators. We are very much looking forward to bringing these shows to life.”

Season 1 was so awful. Season 2 actually kinda filled that niche that justified did and they did it well, all the way down to bubba sparks esque country rap on the soundtrack.
Little over halfway through 3 and it is back to being rather shit - can def see the dad and middle America obsession about it though, written with a focus on terrible one liners that a certain demographic eats up.

I never watched it after going through the first season, wow a couple years ago already. I've seen clips on youtube though and I don't know why Costner is trying to do some weird Eastwood impression like he's had a laryngectomy. He's sound just fine if he was doing his regular voice. Anyways, are you watching it on Paramount? Or is there some other method to watch it?
