Chong was more comfortable in the director's and there's a stronger emphasis on the script. In a way it's better than Up in Smoke and Next Movie, but it's NO WHERE near as funny.

Movie is produced by Peter Macgreggor Scott of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin fame
Cheech & Chong play... Cheech & Chong... although I don’t know how much of a difference that makes. They played “Cheech & Chong” in all their movies. I guess the excuse here is for them to perform their stand-up routine. This is partially a comedy special wrapped around a movie.
