As we await tonight's return of Mystery Science Theater 3000, allow me to squeeze in one last RiffTrax review, as my net started working and I was able to catch up on their latest incompetent action flick, The Retrievers. More incompetent than Fugitive Rage? Hit the link and find out!

Mystery Science Theater is BACK, scaled down but still with the spark that we all love! Our first adventure is a treasure hunt through time and space, it's Santo in The Treasure of Dracula!

Passed 300. This is one of my top ten pages now.

Looks like Santo is going to stop short of becoming my top post, but it should crawl there over time. I think that post should get some clicks as the season progresses and more traffic comes in. The Final Sacrifice didn't start out as my top MST post (pre-Santo). It got that over time because it was a go-to episode for people to take a peek and see how much of an asshole I am. Since it wasn't a rave review, I was a huge asshole.

But I know what Doomsday is thinking. He's wondering it was worth it. Was it worth spending my weekend doing this instead of making a Film Club post? Was it worth the effort watching the stream several times, taking multiple screen caps, and posting a long ass review that wasn't Film Club related? Was it worth it to get that review passed around on social media, generating the best traffic my blog has ever had? Was it worth the effort just to have my post shared with the people who actually work on the show that I write about, including some of my idols, so they can assess the feedback for the new season? Was it worth making the post and sharing aspects of the new season with those who couldn't afford the season pass and can't watch the show until May? Was it worth getting my Twitter followed by this guy, who I can only assume is PG Cooper's alt account...

Anyway, ahead of tonight's Mads show, I take a look back at when RiffTrax tackled the exact same film. It's sex, drugs, and voodoo witchcraft. Join the coven and take The Devil's Hand!

And today's BONUS SHORT is all about the devil's food! Which is...soup. Campbell's soup, even. What this has to do with a magic act? Dunno. But all of this and more in The Magic Shelf!

And I have watched the latest RiffTrax for Things (which I am sure is thebtskink's favorite movie and one even Neverending wouldn't watch). I'll post that on Thursday. I wanted to get The Devil's Hand out for the Mads show.

donny shouldn't fret. I'll be less busy this weekend so I should be able to squeeze it in there. Until then my only words of comfort are enjoy the Jim Wynorski goodness...

Well considering how we're still waiting on about half the folks almost two weeks after deadline I'm not quite sure when that next round is going to be.

Another live stream in the books, and this one will wet your whistle!  Come witness the joys of water with our first Gizmoplex short Pipeline to the Clouds!  Then we tune into a celebration of one of the greatest episodes of all time, "Manos" The Hands of Fate, with special guest Jackie Neyman Jones!

Trying to decide between Fever Lake (rifftrax) or Mitchell (ms3tk) for quarantine viewing. Which one do I do?

From the director of Fugitive Rage is another direct to video action movie straight out of the dollar bin. Get ready for that nostalgic feeling of renting from blockbuster and realizing you wasted your money on movies like Rapid Assault!

But at least there are snacks, as our BONUS SHORT points out! Two leprechauns point out the diverse usage of the perfect food: the potato chip! Venture out into The Adventures of Chip and Dip!

The MST Kickstarter or the RiffTrax one?

If we're talking MST, I'm not crazy about the "Flatimation" set designs because I feel they lack charm and interactivity, but if they move past them after Covid I can deal with them in the meantime (and apparently they weren't even allowed to reuse the door sequence from the Netflix seasons due to some bullshit clause in their contract with them about reusing footage). The theater segments hold promise because they went back to in-theater riffing instead of dubbed riffing. Santo was half a good episode and half an okay one, but I really want to see them working with a more energetic movie like Doctor Mordrid to see what they can do with it.

They also have adspace and commercial breaks again, but they do ads in character and I think it's pretty fun. They had an ad for an RPG book that is based on B-movies and I would love to play it. I go more in-depth in my Santo review and also talked a bit about their Manos special event.

If we're talking RiffTrax, nothing much to say except Return of Swamp Thing is a fun pick for the Live show, while I'm drooling at the idea of a Cats MP3. It's a bummer that they're only doing one show this year, but they really struggled getting the last two out during the pandemic so I get it.
