So is he done? Or will he just continue working in Europe, like Polanski? If only there was a video essay by PG Cooper to give me answers.

Of course he's not done. He married his adopted daughter when she was old enough. people got over it, and he continued to work. If I remember correctly hes in production for a movie right now.

His first movie was made in 1969 and he's made a movie a year since then. That means that if he makes a movie in 2018 and 2019 he'll have made fifty movies in fifty years. That wouldn't be a terrible time to hang it up. I personally don't find the one accusation against him all that believable and think it's kind of bullshit that people suddenly decided that they care about it twenty years later, but defending him on the internet is an exhausting experience and it's pretty clear that all of his movies are going to come with a round of think-pieces.

Have any people come out and said they “regret” working with Polanski? Seems like quite the double standard. Mia Farrow’s kid just signed a deal to make documentaries for HBO. You KNOW the hit piece against Woody Allen is around the corner.

What if he gathers together all the shamed actors in recent months and makes a Glen Gary Glen Ross type flick or something.
A sexual assault and predator super group.

Man I couldnt get through most of that article without getting pretty upset at Farrow and how she brainwashed her children to turn against Woody.
Sounds like Woody is the winner in the end, the investigation didn't find any proof of sexual harrasment.|
I hope he is able to keep making movies.

Wait I thought we weren't supposed to be watching Woody Allen movies anymore. Do we believe Ronan Farrow who said Woody diddles kids? Or Moses Farrow who says he doesn't? I'm so confused.

I actually watched Rifkin's Festival a few months ago. It's a very average and mediocre movie even by modern Woody Allen standards but there was one thing made me pretty pissed. The movie is about Wallace Shawn basically doing Woody Allen. He's a former college film professor who decided to pursue his dream of being a writer which hasn't worked out for him at all. He accompanies his wife to a film festival in Europe as she's a publicist/handler for a new up and coming film director. Shawn finds out that she and the director are having an affair because of course she is since this is a Woody Allen movie and he soon meets a local doctor. The two hit it off, she shows him around town, they make a connection but then realize they could never make it work so he returns to America. The thing that irked me though is that we spend about 95% of the movie watching Shawn bumble about this town and make sarcastic witticisms but it's only at the very end of the movie that he says 'Why am I pursuing writing when I like being a professor more? Was it because I was ashamed to say I changed my mind about what I wanted to do?' And THAT is what the theme of the movie should have been because I think that's a neat idea to explore. Lots of people go through life thinking that they wasted their potential or thinking 'I wanted to do X when I was younger but now I'm doing Y so it must mean I'm a failure' which isn't the case, you just grow and mature and your dreams and goals and desires change. I think that could have been a fun and really interesting theme to play with but instead Woody Allen slugged it into the last 5 minutes. What a waste.

I actually watched Rifkin's Festival a few months ago. How? An editor friend of mine had a DVD. Not sure where she got it, it wasn't burned or ripped but I don't think it's available to pick up in the US.

I actually watched Rifkin's Festival a few months ago. How? Official blu-ray dropping on March 15. This is required viewing only for the hardcore Woody Allen completists.
