Sunday was another brilliant episode for one of television's best series. This show just keeps on shining. Just every step so far this season has been perfect. I was genuinely laughing out loud at a couple of Alan Cumming's lines when he was talking with Alicia.

Yeah, it was a great example of a bottle episode done right. Not sure how they're going to explain away that PAC.

That was a great reveal. Honestly I just though Bishop would show up and tell her he knew, but of course him being the businessman, I should have expected it. It should be really interesting to see how it plays out.

Damn, the cast seems to be falling to pieces, guess we know who will be taking the fall for Carey.

Amazing writing, really great cast that features a plethora of excellent guest stars and supporting characters. A solid core premise that acts as a strong backbone for the main character's journey that still creeps up every now and again. Interesting political and gender dynamics. There's also the fact that it's the best it has ever been, and that's while it's in its sixth season. Honestly you can't really say that about any shows currently airing.

It's a show that manages to work within its network imposed limitations and never let them hold it back in the slightest. When it's in case-of-the-week mode it consistently has a fun and interesting take on the legal system and frequently manages to rip things from the headlines without seeming corny about it. When it's in serialization mode it tells a smart story about a woman who has finally broken out of her self imposed slumber and found a way to self-realize as a seasoned proffetional and as a popular public figure. It also finds ways to seamlessly go from one of these modes to the next without it seeming jarring at all. It is, of course, a network show and there are some limitations because of that, but the show is amazing in the way that it never allows those limitations to hold it back. It openly explores urban politics in a way that no other show not produced by David Simon has ever bothered to and almsot never dumbs anything down while at the same time never feeling like a partisan screed. It's a show written by adults and for adults and is one of the most mature shows on television. Despite all of that, it's also a very breezy watch that never feels like homework. If I have any reservations about it it's that it doesn't necessarily have the visual pinache of something like Mad Men or Breaking Bad and there are storylines here and there that aren't as great as others, still, I think it's quite an accomplishment espcecially given the limitations it has to work with.

I'll second the visuals, but honestly, it never really sticks out thanks to all the other great things it has going for it. And when we say that it has ripped from the headlines stories, don't think of what something like Law & Order does. Some of the Kings finest achievements are those episodes, and arguably the most entertaining.

This is a show people like? I had no idea. Next to Hannibal it's bar-none the best series on network TV. That statement even kind of leads into something else. I love this quote that Margulies said about that as well. I can't find it right now but it was before last season started, and she was saying how people were always saying "it's good for network TV", and last season they just completely knocked it out of the park, as it jumped to become one of the top five shows on the air.

Yeah it's a show that's contantly underestimated because it's on CBS and because it has kind of an odd title and, unfortunately, because it's about a woman.
