Directed by disgraced filmmaker Brett Ratner and starring Nicolas Cage, this holiday movie is a twist on a familiar tale.
What could go wrong?

It’s 1987. Nick Cage and Tea Leone are standing at the airport, Nick Cage getting ready to leave to London for a year, when Tea Leone begs him not to get on the plane. He ignores her. 13 years later, Nick Cage is a rich playboy in New York.

After working at the office on Christmas Eve till 8pm, and then stopping Don Chedle from robbing a convenience store, he goes to sleep at his penthouse and wakes up on Christmas Day in a suburban home with Tea Leone and two kids.

Disgraced actor Jeremy Piven in this movie. Sexual predators travel in packs.

Tea Leone worked with Michael Bay and Brett Ratner. That poor poor woman.

Deexan is looking for laughs but this movie is surprisingly deep. PG Cooper wasn’t even alive when this movie came out, so it’ll be shocking for him to know that I actually saw this shit when it came out. I’m old Anyway, I liked it when I saw it but I was definitely too young for it. As crazy as that may sound. Unlike the straight-forward poor people vs rich people plotline of Tower Heist, a PG Cooper favorite, this is definitely more complex and dare I say mature. Nick Cage has a great life as a rich corporate guy. He doesn’t need the suburban life. He’s also not a Scrooge. He did stop Don Cheadle from robbing a convenience store. But the fact he’s this workaholic spending Christmas Eve at the office isn’t great either. This movie is less about decisions, should I or should I not go to London, and more about what you do with those decisions. Sorry. I sound like PhantomKnight but he’s a good man, damn it.
