I liked it. There's some issues to be sure, but the good outweighs the bad. You can tell what scenes have Joss Whedon's influence, and the lighter/more hopeful tone definitely works in the movie's favor. One of the best things about it is the characterization and how everybody relates to one another. The chemistry is on-point, and both The Flash and Aquaman steal the show, with Wonder Woman serving as another bright spot yet again. The villain is basically a non-character and story-wise, it's nothing we haven't seen before. Plus, like The Avengers, the pacing takes a while to smooth out, but it's executed with enough flair and fun. The fact that it came out good at all, given the production troubles, is a miracle in and of itself. But go and have a good time. ***/****Erza or Grant?

Grant. Ezra's good, but he's mainly there to just be the comic relief character.

Grant. Ezra's good, but he's mainly there to just be the comic relief character. Hasn't Flash always been "the funny one" in these team-ups? But he was never this over-the-top. And it's really Wally who's supposed to be the funny one.

Grant's had more time in the role, too, to develop Barry. Maybe we should discuss this better once Ezra gets his own solo movie.

I think it's safe to say he'll get one. He's one of the things about the movie almost everyone likes.

I think it's safe to say he'll get one. He's one of the things about the movie almost everyone likes. There isn't a single thing about this movie everyone likes. Opinions are divided. Half the people think the movie is okay and the other half think it's trash. Box office projections for the opening weekend went down between Wednesday and Saturday. It was expected to open with $110 million, now it looks like it'll be $94 million. Justice League is gonna be outgrossed by Thor. Warner Bros is definitely gonna make substantial changes. They're stuck with Aquaman cause James Wan is already in post-production, and Wonder Woman 2 is a given, but everything else is up in the air. The Batman went from Ben Affleck starring and directing to Matt Reeves directing and possibly casting Jake Gylenhaal as Batman. Nothing's a sure bet right now.

I think the saving anchor for the DC Universe right now is Wonder Woman 2, which WB will definitely move forward on. They've also got Aquaman in production, so they'll be unlikely to scrap that one. This franchise will definitely live on, though I think they'd be best to keep eyes on Aquaman's performance to see how best to move forward.
I think if anything they'll regroup and rethink their strategy. A Justice League 2 will probably happen at some point, but they'll likely want to build some good will with solo films right now.

Tell me more. I will be surprised if we get another Superman movie. I think the saving anchor for the DC Universe right now is Wonder Woman 2 They can use Wonder Woman 2 as a soft reboot. Use that as their Iron Man to launch the other movies and forget that Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad and Justice League ever happened. Aquaman is already in post. James Wan makes like 10 movies a year. He's our Roger Corman. Justice League has two completely different cliffhangers. Warner Bros is so indecisive they don't even know how to set-up Part 2. Do they go with Darkseid and try to cash-in on The Avengers some more... OR do they go with the Legion of Doom and kinda do something different?

They will finally kick Snyder to the curb and maybe get a real director for the next one.
I dug it overall, I judged it based on the marvel flicks. It wasn't bad, cgi being shitty is kind of excusable, give em a couple years to lock in on their character models some more and it'll be easy to overcome that.
Battfleck was my favorite part of bvs, but he's seriously hating his time in this movie. Liked the flash but he looks goofy when he's running at times... Cyborg was a pleasant surprise.
Looking forward to the sequels, just make sure it's under direction of someone with a little vision and substance, not just style and hijinks.
Giving it an 8 based on the comic movie sliding scale.

The box office numbers are based of people who didn’t like BvS. Once word of mouth gets out that it’s not as bad. People will go out and see it.
Audiences are cautious

I suppose it's likened to Joker being that baddie in Suicide Squad (man that movie would have been way more interesting), I would have actually loved to have seen a Superman "baddie" movie as well. Maybe that would have been an unpopular idea, but that was the best part of Justice League, and maybe we would have gotten a black Superman suit. Steppenwolf was just 'meh'.

I give this a solid 5/10, and not a single point more.
This movie had moments and pieces about it that stood out, but the script and mischaracterization kept getting in the way.
First off, Ezra Miller has been forever cemented in my head as super-greasy-creepy-dude ever since I saw We Need to Talk About Kevin. I have been adamantly opposed to his casting as Flash, but he ended up being the highlight, character-wise. He wasn't over-the-top funny, and I liked his Flash.
I wish I could say the same for Batman. Somehow, criticism of "we don't like Murder-Batman" meant "make him the comic relief and give him one-liners in scenes like getting his ass kicked so people are like GUFFAW HAHA BATMAN." I still say Affleck is our best Bat, but he's getting the worst scripts and direction to work with.
Wonder Woman was reduced to male gaze eye candy. Gratuitous ass shots galore, but her character was much less interesting than her standalone film. Sucks.
Aquaman: Douchebro of the Seas. In one scene, Aquaman charges into a bar, grabs a bottle of whiskey, walks back outside, swigs down the bottle, smashes the bottle down on the ground, and walks into a tidal wave while White Stripes' Iggy Thump blasts over the scene. There's a nice snippet of Atlantis, but it was given zero introduction, and characters we know nothing about interact with Aquaman briefly. His character was more of a "I'm here brooding and greasy to help these village barflys" than some Ruler of the Sea I was expecting.
Cyborg. Interesting character, but sorely lost in the mix of the other heroes. I'd have liked to see a standalone with him first before this film happened.
The villain: generic as usual. "Hey Amazonians, this guy has a teleporter and a giant axe which seems to be overcharged with heat energy: LOWER THE STONE WALLS!" wtf.
I liked the fight all the heroes were involved in. Not the one with the generic villain. The other one.
I did not like the pacing. Again, DC knows how to get me to check my watch during these films. What was up with the random cutaways to some Russian family I didn't care about?
I give it a 5 for being average. It wasn't bad enough that I was suffering through it like Suicide Squad, and I didn't walk away hating it like I did Batman v. Superman, but it was plagued by a flimsy script, crap villain, gross mischaracterizations, and an obvious attempt to re-create the Marvel world through forced humor and Aquaman-Wolverine.
My Ranking of the recent DC Movies:
Wonder Woman - B+ Man of Steel - B- Justice League - C Batman Vs. Superman - D- Suicide Squad - F-
