He's not done. He's only just begun his new contract with TBS. The format of the show is just changing to expand his digital content while doing half-hour talk show episodes during the week.
Now maybe come 2022 it might be another story, depending on how successful this shift goes. Although it wouldn't surprise me at all if he decided to retire at the 30 year mark.

This is no different than Jay Leno doing Jay Leno's Garage and whatever the fuck David Letterman is doing on Netflix. Conan's show, an hour long talk show with monologue, sketch or remote, interview and musical guest or stand-up is effectively over in 2019. This new show is probably just gonna be a bunch of remotes with a quick interview thrown in. Basically the Ali G show minus the cultural commentary. |
