Here we are, ladies and gentlemen. We're back in November which means it's time for some CS! Secret Santa. I think the past few years we've done it we did okay for ourselves, hopefully we can keep it going again for 2017. I cut and pasted a few tidbits below that ideally will keep things easier.
Just a few guidelines that I want to lay out beforehand to make it easier on everybody and, what's infinitely more important, easier on me. I hate to sound like a curmudgeon but most of you messaged me before with issues like 'I don't have the person's address' or 'everything on my partner's list is $100' or something of the sort. I don't mean to come off as a hard ass but let's try to follow these few points.
1) If you want to participate in this year's Secret Santa, please PM me by November 20th with an Amazon Wish List of items you would want your partner to pick up for you. I would like to get them out to people in case any sweet Black Friday deals come up.
2) You must, MUST submit your Secret Santa list as an Amazon Wish List. I assume all of you have Amazon accounts. It takes 1 minute to set up a wish list where you can go onto an item's page and click 'Add To List.' That's it, that's all you need to do. Please don't send me a list with 8 separate links to Amazon or Radio Shack items or whatever. When you PM me just post the link so I can cut and paste.
3) Please check, double check and triple check that your shipping address is linked to your wish list. I think a majority of people last year didn't have that set up and I had to send several reminders to people, sometimes repeatedly. Now that you've read this, please go check again to make sure your address is linked in there (it's under List Settings).
4) If you choose to participate, please be cool and have some manageable items on there and keep the price range to around $20-$25 max. If you send me a list with only a $120 hard drive and a $400 blender I won't partner you up. It takes 5 minutes, just go add some movies or books for your partner to choose from.
5) Again, please submit your completed Amazon Wish List with your address linked to the account by November 20th preferably before 11:15PM PST (my bedtime).
Not to be a downer but I know activity on the boards can be pretty scarce nowadays. If we don't get too many interested people we can skip this year but hopefully enough of us will want to get involved. I think if we hit 5 or 6 that'll be a turnout worthy of moving forward. So Merry early Christmas, let's get this thing going!
