Doomsday is gonna disown me, but I love Bad Mom’s Christmas. I know. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Objectively, there’s issues. No doubt. Mila Kunis is whatever. The husbands are whatever. The kids are whatever. Plot is silly. There’s definitely not enough booze in this eggnog. But those old hens as the Bad Grandmas are hilarious. It reminded me of Meet the Fockers when they brought in Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand to spice things up. Christine Baranski is this ridiculous Real Housewife of Beverly Hills type who thinks she can fix all her problems by throwing money at it. Cheryl Hines is a psychopath. Susan Sarandon is like a rock n roll groupie who never grew out of her teens. Doomsday is rolling his eyes but these old hens aren’t getting hired elsewhere. This was their moment to shine and they pulled it off. The best part, however, is Kathryn Hahn. She was kinda cringe-y in the first one, but really came into her own here. I wanted the movie to be just about her. All her scenes are great. So Doomsday, do be mad when the Mrs drags you to this. You won’t hate it. You’ll at least chuckle.

Hey now I actually didn't mind Bad Moms all that much. It wasn't great but it also wasn't a terrible comedy and had a lot of jokes that landed pretty well amidst the standard raunchy ones. I think it's pretty telling too that in the same summer that Ghostbusters hit a nerve proving that we're all sexist because we hate female comedies, Bad Moms sat there chugging along for weeks getting pretty good reviews and making a ton of money. But we're still sexist I guess.
And you'd better believe the Mrs. is dragging me to this. I have this and Pitch Perfect 3 coming by way so that's great.

Can’t speak for Pitch Perfect, didn’t see the second one, but Bad Moms 2 is a definite improvement over the first one. My issue with the first one is that portraying a rich woman as a stressed out parent came across silly and unrelatable. Here, they don’t bother with that. It’s just a wacky comedy. It’s like Meet the Fockers. Similar plot. Stunt casting. If you like that, you’ll like this.
