I skipped Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders. Didn't sound like I was missing much with any of them. This however I am 100% in for.

Confession: I kind of enjoyed Iron Fist. Granted, I waited till right before The Defenders debuted to sort of let the hate storm die down and not color my opinion too much, but still.
But this looks great. I'm betting it debuts November 10th for Veterans Day.

Confession: I kind of enjoyed Iron Fist. Granted, I waited till right before The Defenders debuted to sort of let the hate storm die down and not color my opinion too much, but still. But this looks great. I'm betting it debuts November 10th for Veterans Day. There are apparently quite a few people who liked Iron Fist. Most of those who did knew nothing about the character ahead of time, and/or don't watch kung-fu movies. As someone who attends the monthly Kung-Fu Jungle night at the Alamo, and has read enough Iron Fist comics to be familiar with the character, it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm just hoping Season Two will be able to fix all the problems folks like myself had with the show, while still holding the interest of those such as yourself who liked it for what it was. How would you feel about the show if it had 200% more martial arts action, 90% less business world backstabbing and 99% less whining and self pity?

The kung fu to story ratio didn't bother me because it's the same logic as most superhero origin movies: there's going to be more character establishment and whatnot than action. I won't be surprised or disappointed, though, if Season 2 leans more on action, as long as there's a good story to back it up.
Anyway, word is Netflix might be delaying this series in light of the Vegas incident. Don't know if that's true or not.

They said 2017 in the trailer. Could be 2018 now. I dunno, take it with a grain of salt. I also heard they were going to do a surprise release last Friday on the 6th to coincide with New York Comic Con. For now, I still stand by my November 10th prediction till we hear otherwise.

I'm sure The Punisher will be released before the end of November. There's very little point in delaying the release of a show like The Punisher because of a mass shooting. Since October 5th (the 278th day of the year), there have been 275 mass shootings in the United States. US Mass Shootings in 2017

I was off by only one week: November 17th, a.k.a. Justice League's release date.

Who else is watching? I'm 3 deep so far. It's not bad, pretty cliche but it's entertaining. I feel like I'm forgetting some of the backstory they set up in Daredevil Season 2, maybe I'm not but there's a lot of talk about 'Frank dying twice' or whatever that confused me a bit but I can forget about it amidst the broken bones and head shots. I'm really not overly fond of the Netflix/Marvel output, the best ones I think are just pretty good but I'm enjoying this for the time being.

I liked the first episode. That's all I've seen so far. I did just rewatch Daredevil Season 2, though, and it does help. I didn't watch the two Daredevil seasons before watching The Defenders, which I think was a mistake, because there's actually a lot of buildup in those seasons to the story that I had forgotten about.
I'm actually surprised they haven't created a 'previously on' for these series to fill in some gaps, like there is with some other Netflix shows. The first Punisher episode alone had information that I was glad I had DD season 2 fresh on my mind.

I'm really not overly fond of the Netflix/Marvel output, the best ones I think are just pretty good but I'm enjoying this for the time being. Frank died for the first time in the hospital, after his family was killed. The doctors gave up trying to restart his heart, and called Time of Death on him, after which his heart restarted on it's own. His second death is because the NYPD decided that he must have been aboard the freighter full of heroin that blew up at the docks, and told the press that he was dead. I've finished episode four so far, and I'm sad to say I'm unimpressed. The Punisher has fallen into the same trap that Iron Fist did. It's trying to be a character driven drama, even though that's not what the story of this character calls for. Once you get past Frank's origin, he's not a particularly interesting character. He kills criminals, and that's about it. He does it in fun and interesting ways that make for great action scenes, but there's not much room for drama there. It's important to take a breather from the action every once in a while to look in on a side character and have some development, and the series has some good ones in it. That said however, too much time is being spent on them. The pace isn't as slow as Iron Fist, but it's still not fast enough. Four episodes in, and I still haven't seen anything as fun to watch as Dirty Laundry. I may feel differently once I've seen the entire series. Just have to wait and see.

About halfway done now. Yeah, it's pretty predictable and very formulaic. It feels par for the course though based on other Marvel show, it's fine but not a great show.

I'm on episode 4, and it's good so far, but I'm starting to get antsy for Frank to get in costume and go HAM-Punisher on criminals, gangs, and the mafia in full force.

I’m glad I decided to not watch the new seasons of punisher and Jessica Jones.
Finishing iron fist and daredevil made me really sad we won’t be getting another season

I only have one episode of Punisher Season 2 left. This season overall wasn't as strong as the first, but I still liked it.
