Lol. That joint was TOO good. Zoned out! Anyway, the gist of it is that Jeff Bridges is a real estate guy who tries to buy a gym, so he can shut it down and built a high rise building, but he falls in love with Sally Field and befriends Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's a small character driven drama with the bodybuilding world as a backdrop. There's comedic moments and wacky characters. Not bad but not good either. The bodybuilding stuff is far more interesting than the relationship between Bridges and Field. Had this been a fictionalized Pumping Iron it could have been a mini classic. Instead it's just an interesting artifact of the era. Worth watching? Maybe - if you're into Schwarzenegger. He does act, playing a less charismatic version of himself but still allowed to have his goofball moments. It's obvious the director didn't want him to overshadow Bridges and so downplayed his persona. Shame. |

Different movie for Eastwood. Him and Bridges play bank robbers in Montana. It's a road picture, a buddy comedy of sorts and a Bonnie & Clyde / Butch & Sundance type movie. It's alright. A bit boring at times, too many fillers, but what works, works really well.
