Honestly? Reads like an imdb top list. Pretty boring safe picks. With some absurd picks that are too early to categorize as great movies.
But mine would include a few of these. I would have more... strange movies (well uneven, not necessarily strange) though. And maybe a few foreign flicks.

Honestly? Reads like an imdb top list. I don't pretend to be a huge film buff like some of you are. These are genuinely my favorite movies lol.

Alright, well with that over... The Ten Television ShowsEverybody does their favorite films and their favorite television series, so once I get through this I’ll move on to perhaps more interesting lists. As for the non-descriptive title, I don’t really know what to call this list. I wouldn’t say it’s the best ten shows of all-time, I suppose I would have to lean more toward the word ‘favorite’ than anything else. Most of these are relatively recent, but I think that idea would be replicated on most others’ lists as well. I’m going to try and release one per day, starting with an honorable mention and #10 today. There might be some delays as this is a particularly busy week for me, but I’ll do my best. Honorable Mention: ArcherSeasons: 6 Aired: 2010-present The show’s writing is eerily reminiscent and has surpassed that of a series that just missed the cut ('Arrested Development'), but that’s not the only reason 'Archer' deserves an honorable mention. In fact, there are many reasons why this series deserves more attention than it manages. The first and most important reason is the writing itself. The amount of cultural references is astounding, and it is frequently funny. The series can be watched and dissected online, scene by scene, reference by reference, or you can just turn your brain off for a half hour and watch with a beer in hand (my preferred method of viewing). ‘Archer’ also features the slickest animation on television, very clean and very neat, and the voice acting is great as well with H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walters, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, voice guests like Jon Hamm and Bryan Cranston, etc. I think my favorite element of the series though is its complete ignorance of time. The show is clearly inspired by 60’s era fashion, cars, speech, etc. But it features newer technology like cell phones, GPS, laser-sighted rifles… but then it also features old typewriters and ancient computers. It’s hard to put your thumb on it. While this aspect is almost never actually brought to the forefront of attention, it’s one that always grips me. 10. SherlockSeasons: 3 Aired: 2010-present (with several lengthy hiatuses) The ultimate proof that less is sometimes more. The series debuted nearly five years ago, and has aired nine episodes to this point. Granted these nine episodes are feature film length (approx. 90 minutes per episode), but for as much attention as the show has garnered we still haven’t really seen that much of it. I will admit I’m relatively new to the party, having just started (and finished up to this point) watching the series a few months ago, but I’m a longtime Sherlock Holmes fan having read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classics as a teenager. I’m a firm believer in the notion that this series is the best adaptation of the stories; it has great direction and humor, solid adaptations of the novels, well-written scripts, etc. The narrative is sometimes hard to follow, but keeping in mind the way Sherlock’s mind works makes that a very appropriate tendency here. The show keeps you guessing, and sometimes never even solves the answer in the long run. Benedict Cumberbatch has done a perfect job owning the role as Holmes, and Martin Freeman makes for an equally great Watson too. I think this is probably one of the very few shows on this list that hasn’t already been seen by everybody. If you’re one of those people, check it out. It honestly isn’t a significant investment of your time and it’s well worth the effort.

Agreed. I particularly enjoy Sherlock's dissections of people and the scene around him. The creators have done a great job attempting to visually show how his mind processes information.

9. BatmanSeasons: 3 Aired: 1966-1968 To use the term "campy" to describe 'Batman' is dismissive even though it is arguably because of this show that the word was thrown into the mainstream's vocabulary. At the center of the show is Adam West's slyly and skillful depictions of Bruce Wayne and the Caped Crusader. Unlike the tortured souls featured in Tim Burton's and Christopher Nolan's adaptations, West's turn as Batman is... well pretty normal. Fighting crime and villains one second, but educating Burt Ward's Robin on a mistake he made the next. The other often-ignored element of the show that appeals to me is just how... loony Batman and his villains are (portrayed lovingly by Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Frank Gorshin, and Julie Newmar). Sometimes I feel like the Gotham police call Batman because they just don't want to deal with the rogues again, otherwise they're hopelessly incompetent. Unfortunately, the show was suffering creative exhaustion by the time Season 3 was rolling around and it's very obvious. The series had run for 94 episodes before Season 3 premiered, and it was canceled after only another 26. The series was over, but the character was far from death.

Unlike the movie list... haha.
And Sherlock is the most bipolar show on tv. So inconsistent. Some episodes are absolute slogs to get through. Some are brilliant.

8. Breaking BadSeasons: 5 (final season split in half) Aired: 2008-2013 Breaking Bad. We all watched it, we all wanted to see how it played out and how this gripping drama would end. Who would die, what would happen to Walt and his family, would he be caught, would Hank figure everything out, lots of questions and everything was mostly wrapped up with a nice bow by the end of the series. It was an incredible series that I think most people would place in their top ten, if not their top five, and finally if not at the very top spot. So why do I have it at number eight? Well, there are a few reasons. The first is that I think the series, in hindsight, is a little aimless. Walt gets cancer, Walt decides to cook meth with his former student Jesse, cue the family and financial struggles, Hank slowly pieces things together, etc. While there is a nice slow burn with Hank (without Hank and that dynamic, I don’t know that the show makes the list to be honest), I think the rest of it isn’t quite as up my alley. It took several attempts to really get into it. I remember trying it when it premiered and not really being interested, and then again before Season 4 started and losing interest as that season ran on, and then again finally right before the second half of Season 5 started I caught up and rode on with the rest of you as that half aired and finished the series. I recently rewatched the whole series with my girlfriend (her first time through) and found myself kind of bored for large parts of the show. I think Breaking Bad is a series that would have been more interesting on HBO where they wouldn’t have had to pulled as many punches too. Despite airing on AMC and being a flagship show, it feels kind of toned down from what it probably could have been. I also think the show deserves a more well-written critque than I'm delivering here, but frankly I don't think anybody is actually reading this and I'm not looking to write a ten-page essay. In spite of all of the negative things I’m saying, the series cracks the list for its tremendous performances from the main cast and the big picture of the show. Like I said I struggled to maintain interest in the show as it ran, but in hindsight the big picture is rather impressive. Some people think of the show as a drug kingpin’s rise to fame and fortune, and I think that’s one accurate way to look at it. I prefer to think of the entire series as a chronicle of one mistake after another and every reaction to those mistakes. Walt gets deeper and deeper into his poor decisions and has to scramble to get ahead of them.
