If Variety or The Hollywood Reporter are saying it, then it's probably true. It's never a mistake to hire talent, and Joss has it in spades. He knows how to handle strong female leads, and he knows comics. WB is showing signs of learning from their mistakes. I hope they keep it up. I'm sooo sick of having to bash DC movies.

Could be interesting.
Batgirl's origin story is lighter fare than the others, so yeah it would be different and Whedon should be a good fit for the script.
He knows how to put action and comedy together with the right time.
EDIT oh i see, they're starting with the New 52 version. Well, that's after The Killing Joke and will have a darker tone after all .
Her original story she's dressing up as a female version of Batman for a costume party, because she and a childhood friend would play Batgirl and Supergirl.
On the way there, she discovers a real alien invasion, so she gets real and foils their plan.

WB is trying to lighten up the DCEU in light of their under performance compared to expectations. They still want to be darker than Marvel, but not as dark as they've been so far. The balance that films such as Serenity and Cabin in the Woods manage to strike are just the sort of thing WB is looking for. |

Joss only agreed to do The Avengers because he had a great Ultron sequel in his head. A critical part of that idea required The Wasp to be a member of the team in The Avengers, but Marvel Studios wouldn't go along with it because they were still working with Edgar Wright on Ant-Man at the time, with The Wasp involved in that script. He did the best he could with what he had, but Joss' heart just wasn't in it. |

Thats totally what I was saying that happened with Ultron. Id love Whedon to do a good Batgirl Movie and see what he could do with Second Justice League Movie.Or Suicide Squad 2 movie. Or even better a Young Justice or a Teen Titans movie.
