He isn't wrong. Once jaws and star wars started the blockbuster trend you used to see different movies as the most profitable. I think we also lost a good bit of visual intelligence as a result as well. I'm not saying I hate blockbusters cuz I categorically do not, but he is most certainly not wrong and his piece in the nyt was excellently written.
