For the past 4-5 days by computer has been running at about 5% speed. I thought it was pretty sudden, but then the CS chat box reminded me I was having trouble scrolling 10 days ago, so maybe it's been slowly creeping up. Anyway, it's not going away on its own and I'm not sure what's going on. I haven't been visiting malicious sites (that I can remember) and I've run just about every malware, ad, and virus scan that I can find and it's not picking up anything.
What can I check next? Thanks.
Additional info:
- The fan on the computer box (this is a PC) seems to be running hard all the time, but according to my processes, it's not really doing anything.
- Computer is only about 2 years old.
- It's not just webpages, but programs like Microsoft Word can take forever to boot.
- It occasionally has moments of lucidity. Like the first few seconds after restarting my computer, I can quickly get to websites.

You've known me for a long time, Ben. Would I really be so STUPID to search for porn on the same computer that I do everything else on?
Actually, I may have finally found the problem, because it's been working great since about the time I posted this thread. It occurred to me that this started around the time I renewed AdAware, so I turned it off. It's been nice now. Maybe I should send them a letter...

I respect J-Bone more than ever now that I know he has a dedicated porn pc. The porn computer is a great stand-up bit by Marc Maron from the late 90's / early 2000's. Track it down if you can. |

My computer stopped recognizing windows.
So I have a new one now and am having issues with customizing windows 10
