I may only be feeding Neverending's view of me when I say this, but...this show is...surprisingly good. When I first saw the trailer/heard the idea -- Lucifer retiring from Hell and coming up to L.A. to run a nightclub and eventually help a homicide detective (Lauren German from Chicago Fire) solve crimes -- I thought it was one of the dumbest ideas ever. But then after hearing lots of positive buzz, I binged Season 1 last summer and really got into it. I've been watching Season 2 as it airs. What makes it work is the tone set by the writers and producers, which is honestly quite witty and funny, but balances good dramatic stuff as well, and Tom Ellis as Lucifer, who crushes it in the role. It's also as much of a serial as it is a procedural, with some pretty tightly-paced story arcs thus far. So, I'm gonna pull a Neverending and tell you guys that something that looked unappealing at first is actually pretty damn good.
