John Wick 2 - Review Thread
Here are my thoughts, I just saw it a couple of hours ago.
For someone who didn't know what John Wick 1 was going to be about, it completely blew me away with the action and tone of the film. As for the story goes, I really enjoyed the first film's story and being introduced to that World.
This movie continues the same world with way more action and the gun fights compared to the original. Which if you are an action junkie will be totally targeted for you. The story and plot really take a hit it's still good I just think the revenge aspect of the first film was a lot better.
Even with that nit-pick, I still really enjoyed this film. Keanu Reeves owns this film, the makers totally understand this world.
My only real concern was the last 10 minutes which completely took me out of the movie though.... But we can talk more about that as more of you guys have seen it.

I loved almost every minute of this. While it lacked the emotional punch at the beginning that the first film did, I attribute that to the audience not really knowing what John Wick was capable of. John Leguizamo and the Russian kingpin build the suspense by telling the kid what he did was going to have serious repercussions, which then led to us seeing John Wick's capability.
The second film was more like John Wick Unleashed. Since there was no mystery who who John Wick is, or what he is capable of, he comes right out of the gate at full speed. A chain of events leads to numerous action sequences with brief moments that further the plot and allow us to catch our breath and have a laugh here and there. The choreography of the scenes was as brilliant, maybe even more so, than the first, and the Joker has been unseated as the king of Best Pencil Death in a movie.
The only qualm I had was the ending - a choice was made that, quite frankly, surprised me, and then led to an inevitable sequel, but it was an entirely sad ending, and one that demands we see a third chapter. The other issue that was more of an annoyance was the fact that John didn't have a backup cache of weapons and gold coins. He should have been prepared for the possible destruction of his home, and had some supplies stored elsewhere. While it was cool to see a Neo/Morpheus reunion, and he did have other reasons to see "Morpheus," the fact he had to bargain for a gun seemed like irresponsible planning on a master assassin's part.
Still, this was a great one, with a high re-watchability factor.
9/10 - superb movie

I'd also like to point out how funny this movie is. So many laughs, so many kills that were just brutal - the audience I was with was pretty vocal (myself and my friend included) in response to a lot of the kills and jokes.

Keanu is great in this movie. Well, both of them really. I liked this one. Lots more world-bulding.

Awesome time seeing this. Pretty much the last half hour was one long action sequence. Some bad up close CGI moments though.
Definitely had a little sense of self-awareness this time around, led to some funnier moments.
Don't fuck with Wick.
