I'd prob give it a 6/10. Cop movie combined with a heist movie. Some sloppy social commentary with some cringey early dialogue, a little bit of the ultraviolence we have come to expect from zahler, tertiary characters that almost immediately are made inconsequential, could have easily cut a good 45 minutes from this.
What a great main song though, shotgun safari by the o Jay's.
Bit of a step backwards for zahler hoping he goes back to simpler stories in the future.

Yes, saw this a few weeks back. Mel is definitely amazing. Vince was solid too. Seeing them together alone made me happy. But way too long for sure. And Don Johnson. That's a bonus.
Zahler sure knows how to put his scenes together, that's for sure.

This is on Hulu via Cinemax and I want to watch it, but I might watch Bone Tomahawk on Prime first to see what I think of Zahler's style.
