Someone said: "Obama leaving and Trump becoming President is like Mufasa dying and Scar becoming the Lion King." That's all I needed to hear to spend the day listening to Elton John. What are your favorite Elton John song? Besides the Lion King soundtrack. That's everyone's favorite, right? Jibbs thebtskink Deexan Dracula

He's never been a favorite of mine but he's certainly had some undeniable songs over the years. Tiny Dancer is pretty good. Rocket Man is pretty good if you get past the fact that the lyrics are bizarre. The original version of Candle in the Wind is quite strong. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road has its merits. There was this one song he did in the 90s called "Blessed" that I remember getting a lot of play on childrens' radio when I was a kid for some reason, have some nostalgia for that one.
Cannot stand Crocodile Rock though.

Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding) is one of my favorite songs, period. Top three.
Other greats:
Tiny Dancer Rocket Man Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Candle in the Wind I've Seen That Movie Too Curtains Philadelphia Freedom
And sure, I guess the Lion King stuff. (And the whole Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album)

What Jibbs said, and Don't Let the Sun Come Down on Me.
Crocodile Rock blows, though.

Also, he did a good guest on the first Alice in Chains album after they reunited with the new singer. This song specifically being about Layne:

Don't Let The Sun... I'm Still Standing I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word
All of the above spring to mind but I'd consider myself quite ignorant to some of his lesser known album tracks.
