So here it is, the CS! Secret Santa 2016 thread. It's a little early but I wanted to get the ball rolling and give people plenty of time to prep if they want to participate. I think it went pretty well last year so hopefully we get a similar turnout this time.
Just a few guidelines that I want to lay out beforehand to make it easier on everybody and, what's infinitely more important, easier on me. I hate to sound like a curmudgeon but most of you messaged me last year with issues like 'I don't have the person's address' or 'everything on my partner's list is $100' or something of the sort. I don't mean to come off as a hard ass but let's try to follow these few points.
1) If you want to participate in this year's Secret Santa, please PM me by November 15th with an Amazon Wish List of items you would want your partner to pick up for you.
2) You must, MUST submit your Secret Santa list as an Amazon Wish List. I assume all of you have Amazon accounts. It takes 1 minute to set up a wish list where you can go onto an item's page and click 'Add To List.' That's it, that's all you need to do. Please don't send me a list with 8 separate links to Amazon or Radio Shack items or whatever.
3) Please check, double check and triple check that your shipping address is linked to your wish list. I think a majority of people last year didn't have that set up and I had to send several reminders to people, sometimes repeatedly. Now that you've read this, please go check again to make sure your address is linked in there (it's under List Settings).
4) If you choose to participate, please be cool and have some manageable items on there and keep the price range to around $20-$25 max. If you send me a list with only a $120 hard drive and a $400 blender I won't partner you up. It takes 5 minutes, just go add some movies or books for your partner to choose from.
5) Again, please submit your completed Amazon Wish List with your address linked to the account by November 15th preferably before 11:15PM PST (my bedtime).
I'm putting this out there a little early so I can see who's interested, I can collect lists from people and then send out the lists to everyones partners before the Thanksgiving weekend. Black Friday sales will be all around so maybe people can get some sweet deals on stuff that their partner might like. So all my negativity aside, I hope everyone has a nice holiday season and let's get this thing rolling!
