Yea it was awful but they brought Kong writers with them this time. And that shit was awesome.
The inclusion of tombini leads me to believe there will be a decent amount of humor and some heart. They've realized these monster movies are best served with a side of tongue in cheek action.
The set up is already ridiculous, the start of the trailer looks more like the first one with a little less darkness.
I dunno about this director at all, but I do trust the writing staff on this. And only two people from the first one are returning, watanabe who got a half chub every time he even heard Godzillas name, and his partner.
I think they're figuring this monster genre out and it only really took one trash movie.

I wish I could say that the studio has certainly learned from the mistakes of the first two movies, but this is WB. They have never learned a thing from their mistakes in the past, so I see no reason to believe they're going to start now. It's all on the director, really. There won't be any help from the studio. |

Having already read the Reddit leaks on the film, and each trailer to the film has pretty much confirmed they're real, I more or less already know the plot beats of the film. The human storyline doesn't seem like it's anything to write home about though the lore they're adding for the Titans sounds exceptional to the ears of this Godzilla fan. There are a few things that I read that I'm a tad concerned about, such as the final shot being the Titans all bowing to Godzilla, taking the title of "King of the Monsters" to a far more literal sense. It seems cheesy to me. But then again the "savior of our city" ending of the first one was just as cheesy and I kinda dug it, so whatevz. But in any case NUMB AWAY!
