I personally don't get the logic in it, but they banned all drugs for a few bad apples. Why are guns so different? People use drugs responsibly (see Portugal). People use guns responsibly. But there is also the other side of using both.

Just seems like such a double standard to me. Guess I'm a weirdo though.

I mean I have a close friend that owns and operates a gun shop. He is incredibly responsible. I would never want to take away his way of living personally. But I just don't understand the logic of banning other things... seems so arbitrary. Meh, politics suck.

Well I went to a Catholic high school so there are two reactions both of which you could guess. Most of the people still show nothing but support and prayers for her and her family and are reposting her final status that she left online. There are some though that I've seen saying 'she's not brave, she's a coward!' or 'All life is sacred, suicide is never the right choice.' Granted those only constitute maybe 3 or 4 while the former has literally dozens of shares. Now that I think about it I guess those would come regardless of whether you went to a private school or public school.

As for me, I haven't posted anything about it. I haven't spoken with her since high school almost 12 years ago and I think it would be a bit selfish of me to inject myself into that situation like so many other people are doing for their own attention. I shit you not, I've seen a ton of posts from close friends saying 'I didn't know Brittany in high school but this is so sad' which then got that person 37 likes and comments like 'I'm so sorry for your loss!' Their loss? They didn't even know her! So it has turned into a bit of a circus among high school peers on my feed for the time being which is sad.

A 90-year-old war veteran says he will continue breaking the law by feeding homeless in public places in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was arrested earlier for defying a city ordinance that restricts such charity to protect local businesses.

Arnold Abbot has been feeding homeless people in the streets of Fort Lauderdale for some 23 years, and says he will not stop, despite the city council making it a citable offence, carrying a punishment of 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.

“I am not afraid at all. I was a combat infantryman for 2 1/2 years. I’ve spent 50 years fighting for civil rights for the minorities in this country. I don’t have the slightest fear of being arrested,” he told RT. “The only thing I am concerned about is that there would be nobody to feed the homeless outdoors, which is what I do – and what I intend to do as long as there is breath in my body.”
