My daughter's going to enter second grade next year and my wife is a teacher, which often prompts me to wonder how long until it's their turn?
Oklahoma already has super lax gun laws, I e., nearly non-existent, and with their lack of willingness to do things like wear masks and get vaccines I already know they don't give a shit about doing anything at all to protect a vulnerable population.
How long until I tell my wife and or my daughter goodbye for the last time before I go to work? How long till there's another incident where "nothing can be done"?
When will it be their turn to be an acceptable loss in order to protect someone else's second amendment rights?
I feel really lost right now, and I don't know what to do. The people that can make a change don't want to make a change because it's not profitable and I feel lost because of it.

My wife's best friend posted a picture of her daughter and another kid who was a close friend. The other kid in the picture (not the best friend's daughter) was killed at the school. Wife's friend still doesn't know how to break it to her daughter that her friend is gone and never coming back. Really sad.

At the very least they could raise the age of semi-automatic long gun purchases to 21. It's an idea that sounds like that might be catching on, maybe? It may or may not help that much but it's hard to argue that it really 'infringes' on anyone's rights.
