Well, it looks like my hopes that Iron Fist would be able to wrap up his storyline during season three of Luke Cage are not to be. Hot on the heels of the announcement that Iron Fist is cancelled comes the cancellation of Luke Cage. I suppose there's still the possibility that the two series have been cancelled because Netflix plans on putting both characters into a Heroes for Hire series.

Reports are saying there were tensions and disagreements between Netflix and the showrunner, though it's hard to say if that's true at face value.
Though if I were a betting man, I'd say just be patient and see if these shows migrate to Disney's streaming service. The timing of this is opportune for such a thing, and it might even be a factor in Netflix letting them go. It's a possibility that Disney might have been in negotiations with Netflix and Netflix were more interested in continuing their more popular shows in Daredevil and Jessica Jones and just handed Disney back Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Disagreements with a show runner aren't enough to kill a show. The show runner on season one of Iron Fist wasn't brought back for season two, and that worked out great. |
