Well, there wasn't any this that fancy when I had my Commodor. We had to type in all those computer wingnut lines of code in order to make one stupid sound or pic like the American flag. The only games we had were text based adventure like Pirate's Cove!! They had. A limited recognized set of commands and two o three path choices at each turn.

My brother and I used to play Donald Duck's Playground at my grandma's on her commodore 64. Your grandma had a Commodore 64? My grandma barely knows how to use her cellphone. We had to type in all those computer wingnut lines of code in order to make one stupid sound or pic like the American flag. The 50's were rough.

She had a lot of kids, so she needed toys to keep all us dumbass grandbabies entertained. She had the commodre 64, a nintendo, and a super nintendo. My fondest memories with my dad's mom involved staying up past our bedtime and playing bomberman SNES with my brother and my Grammy.

Hunter - my first ever 3D sandbox experience:
And probably my oldest gaming memory of all, Gunfright. I vividly remember sitting alongside my older brother as he played this when I was aged 4 or 5:

Remember when Saturday morning was the only time we got to watch cartoons. I don't know about the rest of you but I always looked forward to seeing this as well.

Remember when Saturday morning was the only time we got to watch cartoons. That hasn't been true since the 70's. Children's television was over-saturated in the 80's and 90's. Weekday Mornings: Fox Kids, PBS and syndication Weekday Afternoon: Disney Afternoon, Fox Kids, PBS and syndication Saturday Morning: Networks and syndication Sunday Morning: UPN Cable: Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, TBS, TNT, USA, etc. It was always a battle between that and TNT's Monster Vision.

Not everybody growing up had the luxury of all those channels. I didn't even know Cartoon Network existed till I was in high school because it was finally added by our cable provider. So during my time in the late 80s and most of the 90s Saturday Morning was still the only time I was able to watch cartoons.
Yes TNT's Monster Vision was also awesome.

I also didn't get Cartoon Network till high school. Before that, I had to watch it at my uncle's house. Regardless, I'm sure you got PBS and Fox and just weren't aware of it. Disney Afternoon was a syndication package so it's possible none of your local stations had it.

Between the two states that I traveled through growing up it wasn't provided at all till late 90s, so we had no way of watching it. PBS hardly played cartoons (lots of old British comedies and Doctor Who though), FOX was only given broadcasting time on Sundays for a few hours. Yeah if we wanted anything Disney it was Sunday night on ABC.

Fox Kids, and later Kids WB, had all the popular shows. Nickelodeon was big too, but like you said, not everyone had cable. So, Fox had the edge.

Well during college football season it was getting ready to watch Cornhusker football. Otherwise it was the three major channels. Once we got the cable box and I stopped being a remote, which was around 92, we finally had Nickelodeon. Fox wasn't added till right before the Power Rangers craze. Kids WB was right around middle school.

There was so much channel hopping as a kid. Disney Afternoon, Fox Kids and TBS' Disaster Zone/Area (whatever it was called) being on at the same time was a hassle. Saturday morning was jumping between all four networks - later five networks. Really, the only convenience was cable because their shows are on a loop.

I used to go to my grandparents' house and rush into their bedroom to watch tv while the adults talked about adult things. Two that I vividly remember.

Oh shit, forgot about Mighty Max. This is what I watched at 8am while eating a bowl of cereal. I could never watch a full episode cause I had to be in elementary school by 8:30. I watched 15 minutes max, then grabbed my bookbag and rushed out the door. The school was only 5 minutes away.

Another show I loved.
After just now looking it up I didn't realize it was on for only one season, seemed like a lot longer.
