If this new incarnation of the series takes after the original, that footage will appear in every episode of the series. The first half of every episode always featured a new story, but the finale was always the same. The five lions would attack a Robeast sent by King Zarkon. The Robeast would easily swat them down, so they would form Voltron. After softening the Robeast up for a bit, Voltron would form the Blazing Sword and destroy the Robeast.

Why do to Power Rangers have individual robot animals? Voltron at least used the individual lions to destroy the cannon fodder that showed up before the robeast. The zords never did anything on their own. Their sole purpose was to form the megazord.
