Last week's episode was astounding. David Lynch may be putting out his most artistically brilliant work. This season has been incredible, in my opinion it's far surpassing the original. Kudos to Showtime for allowing Lynch the freedom he needed to put all of this together. Eight episodes in and I'm stunned at how impressive everything has been.

Reaction to finishing the new season? Yup. Hell of a ride. I enjoyed the original series, but The Return is a whole different beast.

The Return was one of the few television shows I can say transcended even what cinema is doing. It was unlike anything I'd seen before, even from David Lynch.
It's so unique and groundbreaking that it makes the original series look standard by comparison.

I think I might straight up dislike something like 60-70% of the original series and love the other 30% to 40%. The Return made it all worth it.

That's what I tell people who struggle through the original series. I personally love the original series, but it can be a bit of a slog at times in the second season.
But it's all worth it to get to The Return.

My lady swears by this show (even has The Owl Cave logo tatted on her arm,) and I finally, FINALLY sat through this for the first time last year. Some thoughts:
-The Return is my favorite incarnation. -Was definitely thrown off by the comedy bits. This show is best when focused on the strangeness and mystery. -I absolutely despise Lucy and Andy (although both the actors who play them are WONDERFUL people.) -Dale Cooper is just amazing in every way. -With the way Episode 18 ended, I think it's a neat little bow that only David Lynch could wrap up.
I was sour on it at first because my exposure to the fan base wasn't the best (long story,) but I've come to appreciate the show itself and have since been to Snoqualmie a number of times now.
