My pops got this new router. He has Dish and the dvr section of it always freezes or buffers everytime he tries to watch a movie, so he figured it was the router. He bought a Netgear router and got it connected to the internet and he got the internet working, but now he doesn't know how to connect it to Dish so he can use the dvr. He called Dish but they wanna charge about 150 bucks to take care of it. Anyone have any idea how to set this thing up for him? If you have Dish and no what Im talking about, that would really help

If you have Dish and no what Im talking about, that would really help I do not have dish but I did a google search and it seems like you just run an ethernet cable from the cable/dvr box to the router and it should be good to go. No set up needed. It seems they also sell a wireless adapter for the cable/dvr box if the router is not able to be placed near the box. www.connectyourhome.com/dish-network/faq/how-to-connect-your-dvr-to-the-internet/If that doesn't work let me know, I will dig up some more. My dad has directv and his just uses the one cable, no set up needed on his. I would assume dish network probably works the same.
