Here's a few podcasts I've tried out lately and my impressions, in case anyone cares.
Let's Talk About Myths, Baby - If you like Greek myth, this is a good one. The host is basically retelling the stories with a modern commentary. She's funny and pithy and I enjoy this one a lot. Definitely a keeper.
Myths & Legends - Tried this one out as well. Its also pretty good; same idea as Myths Baby, but the host isn't quite as interesting with his insights on the stories. I only need one Mythology podcast, so I'm sticking with Myths Baby.
Issue Zero - A fairly new podcast about Geek Culture. Its a single host who has some guest speakers peppered throughout. The focus is on comics, but he goes into other geek arenas. For example, one episode was speculating what would happen if Xenomorphs actually made it to earth. Its been quite enjoyable, so I'm gonna keep it around.
Wingin' It - A West Wing podcast. Standard TV show podcast format; each episode they discuss an episode of the show. A little too much "shipping", but otherwise I good podcast about one of my favourite shows.
Star Wars Minute - My search for my SW podcast begins. The conceit here is each episode covers only one minute of the movies. Its pretty bold, and though its actually quite good, that might be a little too much.
Rebel Cast Radio - This seems to be the more professional of the SW podcasts out there. It is quite good; I like the hosts despite how much they sound like morning radio DJs. The problem is that it is a weekly podcast and I'm not really interested in hearing from them that much, so I might just choose select episodes.
Full of Sith - This one feels a little more like just a couple of fans talking about the movies, which is good. They are pretty hardcore star wars nerds though, which might get to be too much.
Steal the Stars - A fictional podcast about someone who works at a UFO research facility. Its interesting so far, and I like these fictional podcasts as long as they are a short series and have an ending.
Breaking Math - The concept is that they are taking complex math concepts and trying to break them down to a level someone with eighth grade math can understand. The first episode was really interesting, and I'm excited to try more. I'm hoping it has some cool tidbits and ideas I can bring back to the classroom.
Imaginary Worlds - A show about science fiction. I have been looking for a sci-fi book podcast for a while. This one has a very similar format to Issue Zero where its one host who brings in various "experts". I'm not a huge fan of this, and having it for Issue Zero is probably all I want. I might give it another episode to see, but I'll probably ditch it.

I'll try that Mythology one, I tried Mythology from Parcast and had to unfollow because the scripted acting was so damn cringey.

The Kingcast, with Eric Vespe (Quint from olde AICN) and Scott Wampler.
They invite guests on, who choose which book and adaptation to discuss.
First episode dropped today, is Kumail Nanjiani discussing The Running Man.

I've been listening Star Wars Minute for years. I love it,. but I can see how it might wear thin on someone.

If Ian is looking for a Star Wars podcast, he might want to try Steele Wars. I don't listen to it personally, because fuck Star Wars, but it's been going on for ages, is highly rated, and has even had cast members like Mark Hamill on it. www.planetbroadcasting.com/our-shows/steele-wars/

God damn it. My partner and I were brainstorming ways to keep busy during quarantine and we talked about doing a podcast where we covered the AFI's top 100. I put together a word doc listing all of the films and what their availability ways, one I remembered this: Also, Unspooled is sucking me in now. Its Paul Scheer and a movie critic Amy Nicholson going through the AFI 100 2007 with their reviews of the movies. They've done 5 or 6 so far and I think they're starting to find a rhythm. Amy's is a nice perspective to hear, one that I dont agree with all the time but definitely is challenging my perceptions about movies I love

I suggested doing the filmography of Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, and Paul W.S. Anderson concurrently and calling the show The Anderson Files.
My girlfriend said no.
