What...?
Soooo, Warner Brother's solution to all the brouhaha was to just say "fuck it, do what you want"?

What...? Soooo, Warner Brother's solution to all the brouhaha was to just say "fuck it, do what you want"? They're also making a standalone Joker movie. Seems like WB is throwing in the towel and just taking the animation approach of doing random movies featuring the DC characters.

As long as Warner Brothers has a tight leash on D.C. and what happens with the characters and the movies, D.C. will have a hit and miss run on their movies. They aren't really focused on giving us a great movie experience as they are selling merchandise tie-ins to their franchises.
Plus when they movies do bigger outside the U.S. they'll continue to just do whatever. I'm sure we'll see them do tons of Joker movies or have him in everything much like they will Batman because they bring in the big bucks.
I'm still hoping this turns out to be a good movie. Affleck could give us a great stand a lone, if done right...so I'm hoping that happens with this.

Looks like Ben is out as well. Which is a shame, he was one of the few people that acted like they gave a shit in these monstrosities.

The kid from Gotham totally has his fingers crossed knowing his foot's in the door right now, blissfully unaware they'll just slam it shut and break his leg.

There's been a bit of back pedaling. Now Variety and Deadline are saying that it's not a done deal. It's just very likely. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if WB leaked the story just to see what the reaction would be.
Personally, I can't help but react badly. Sure, Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger were controversial picks for the franchise in their time, but this is a couple steps beyond that. Twilight is some seriously heavy baggage, and it hasn't gone away for Pattinson or Stewart. They're working at it, and perhaps one day they'll be able to move beyond their stupid sparkling vampire movies, but that hasn't happened yet.

It's insane that WB just has no idea what the fuck they're doing with any of these characters.

It's insane that WB just has no idea what the fuck they're doing with any of these characters. It's WB. They've NEVER known what do to with DC Comics. As soon as WB bought DC, they immediately began squandering it's potential. They sold the rights to make animated series to Hanna-Barbera. They sold the live-action TV rights for Wonder Woman to ABC. They sold the live-action movie and TV rights for Superman to Alexander Salkind. The rights to Swamp Thing were sold to Wes Craven. The list of bone headed decisions goes on and on. They're morons. They've always been morons. They make successful DC movies occasionally, but it's entirely by accident. WB allowed Tim Burton to do Batman because Barbara Streisand's hair dresser thought it was a good idea!

The same company that purchased Warner Bros already owned DC at the time.... so, I guess, in a way, DC sorta bought WB. No, but seriously, I'm confused by all this. What kind of crowd are they trying to draw in with this idea?

I'm sure years ago you'd find my old self on the old boards whining about Pattinson and TWILIGHT.
Honestly, don't feel big one way or the other on this.

Pattison 100% turned his image around. Had this been announced closer to the Twilight films I’m sure the entire world would have groaned. But he’s done a great job distancing himself from that franchise and showing he’s a fine actor with excellent taste. This seems a little left of field but I’m also really on board for this

The Dark Knight Rises was pretty bad, and he thought David Goyer's ideas for Man of Steel were good. Anybody dumb enough to allow David Goyer free reign loses a lot of points in my book.
